In her opening remarks, RNAO CEO @DorisGrinspun —the founder & visionary behind the #BPG program & #BPSO designation program — says that today is about celebrating, learning and about having fun.

"Today nursing is leading the charge for evidence-based practice for everyone — not just for nurses. When we [nurses] do something, we do it for collective good."

On @CTVNews, RNAO CEO @DorisGrinspun says that it's unfortunately not the first time there's been a fake nurse in Ontario.

She says "the first thing to do" for health-care employers is to check the credentials of the nurse.

"Each one of those places ought to be checking the @collegeofnurses's Find a Nurse registry...and it shouldn't fall on patients or residents or families to do those checks & balances."

The new Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program at Carleton University with #RNPrescribing integrated in its curriculum is an important step to address the health needs of Ontarians.

Nurses applaud this step – and RNAO urges all BScN programs to take @MyCarletonU's lead & apply for ON government funding to integrate RN-prescribing education into their curriculums.

The very best of the best. We are better people thanks to Judge Sinclair's lifetime work and advocacy. From his inquest into the deaths of 12 babies after heart surgery at a Winnipeg hospital, where he concluded that at least nine of them could have survived. To his remarkable role leading the #TruthAndReconciliation Commission and Report - Judge Sinclair fought for truth, dignity, and justice.
