Thank you @UCSFGradDiv for an unforgettable summer! These past 10 weeks I developed my skills in scientific research under the mentorship of incredible cell biologists at UCSF. I made lots of exciting discoveries, both with my project and with my interests for post undergrad!
Excited to be starting my summer internship @UCSF just next week! I’ll be in a Microbiology lab for two months learning new lab techniques in biology research, how to communicate scientific info, options for after college, how to strengthen grad school applications, and more.

Crazy this semester is almost over! I’ve been learning so much about public health issues and how to approach them using medical anthropology and I’ve been working with a bunch of great people from all over London to bring project ideas to life!!
Tomorrow we will be with friends @LRMNetwork at their drop-in session!
💙We will be at Woolwich Common Community Centre every first & second week of each month to hear about #health & #care experiences.

So great to hear from @unsymbolize and @ga_kitada this past Friday! Great discussion on his book, Epidemic Illusions, and the coloniality of global public health, as well as the medical gaze. Lots of interesting ideas that I’m excited to bring back to @woosteredu with me!
However, through this role I have been able to build relationships with patients in a way that is much more meaningful to us both. This relationship is also beneficial as patients are more willing to open up about health issues to someone they know and trust.
