Most races, especially if Toyota is leading early on, I generally predict they will implode somehow. While they get wins, and Hamlin might win tonight, it is rare to see 6 in the top 10 with 60 to go. That is a long way from checkered. There is still time for them to fall apart.
I'm also curious if the cooling brakes is an issue. The broadcasters keep talking about the two differences in caliper failure and from what I have gathered, the two cars that have had lots of cooling on the brakes have failed in spectacular fashion. Seems like it is better hot.
I need to go and watch videos of Connor Zilisch road race. His brake rotor exploded quite early in the race today. He also was using up a lot of brake at Watkins Glen, very different than SVG. I'm curious how his road racing braking was compared to NASCAR. Materials? Driver? Car?
There was absolutely no urgency in putting out the fire under Ty Gibbs car. Kind of uncomfortable. Also...Ty Gibbs...is not the kind of cup driver the organization needs. They want him. And that is fine. The name warrants whatever they want to do. It just isn't a good look.
That Daytona 500 was pretty good. I'm bummed Kyle Busch didn't get the win. The end was...OK. I'm going to have to wait and see if NASCAR will make the call to not throw a caution after the white flag in more races before I say I am happy. They need to show consistency. #hopeful
The 2026 #NASCAR Clash was basically a SEASON in one race. Golly day. 200 laps took 3 and 1/2 hours. The weather was trash. The amount of cautions was rough. It was entertaining though and I think Preece won that fair and square. I don't think it has ANY bearing on the season.
Thought: for the current clash at Bowman Gray, local dealerships donate the number of stock Mustangs, Camaros, and Camarys needed for each driver to race in the snow. Each race in the regular season you can buy tickets to win one of the cars. Oversimplified, but you get the idea.
Wow. Just wow. All I can say is wow. I'm so incredibly thankful. You have all been so supportive. This has been a long 14 years. It's been a slow grind. But I won't stop. Three thousand people have subscribed to watch diecast and automotive content. Thank you.
This is the first thing I thought of when I saw the new Ferrari F80. The SF90 on the left is like...you look like me but better. The Corvette in the middle is like...I'm trying to be like both of you. And the new F80 on the right is like...I'm better just because. 😆#ferrarif80
A quick Google search of net worth tells me this lawsuit by 23Xi against NASCAR is going to be a clash of the titans. I know MJ has Denny on his side, along with many other possible partners. But the Fance family has a current unknown net worth even by Forbes. That's daunting.
In reaction to the AD penalty by Dale Jr, he uncovers NASCARs ultimate rule in the first 1:15 "As determined in the sole discretion of NASCAR" That's all we as fans need to know. They will remain consistently inconsistent because it's their discretion to do so. Clear? Tough.
So NASCAR, it's going to be like thar? You feel bad for almost punishing Larson for missing the Coke 600 that you let Larson take the white flag and then throw the caution. Shame. Also, moving the last few laps to cable. Disappointing. Being a fan is hard sometimes. Painful even.
