Mobashir, an American citizen, spoke Wednesday to recount his forceful arrest by ICE agents in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood.

He described being rushed, tackled, and placed in a chokehold by agents before being transported to a detention center in Bloomington, despite his legal status.

Veteran detained by ICE: I identified myself as a US citizen and a veteran, but that didn't matter. Agents smashed my window, sprayed tear gas and pepper spray into my car, dragged me out. Even after I complied, I was taken to a detention center and held for 3 days without charges. No phone call, no lawyer, no medical care, even though my skin burned from the chemicals.

Palestinian families in Gaza are facing starvation. No food is getting through. Children are going to sleep hungry. They are getting sick and desperate.

At the same time…there are Israeli families living in unbearable anxiety. For nearly 20 months, they’ve been waiting for their children and loved ones held hostage in Gaza to come home.

This crisis is human, heartbreaking, and it should end immediately!! @netanyahu @IsraeliPM the power is in your hands….your current policies are punishing innocent civilians and will not bring the hostages home. It will not heal anyone’s pain.

Sarah Milgrim, 26, was a passionate peace activist.

She held a Master’s in International Studies from American University, and a second Master’s in Natural Resources and Sustainable Development from the United Nations University for Peace.

At the Israeli Embassy in Washington DC, she dedicated her work to building a future where Israelis and Palestinians could live side by side in peace and dignity.

She also volunteered with Tech2Peace, an organization that brings together young Israelis and Palestinians to foster dialogue, understanding, and reconciliation.

When Elias Rodriguez shot her, simply because she was Jewish, he murdered not just a bright young woman, but the very kind of person our world so desperately needs: someone working tirelessly to create a more peaceful, just, and shared future for all.
