Our exciting news!
We've been collaborating closely with @FairTradeCentre since we started and now we're merging
All our work in Ghana and the UK will continue under the banner of The FIG Tree.
This #FairtradeFortnight, we're asking you to #BeTheChange to make trade fair ✊
And this year is extra special because we are celebrating 30 years of Fairtrade in the UK 🎉
But what is Fortnight? And how can you #BeTheChange this year?

It's #FairtradeFortnight and in this very special year we're marking 30 years since the first Fairtrade marked products hit our supermarket shelves
We can all be the change we want to see in the world by choosing from the thousands of Fairtrade products available in our shops 1/
The cocoa farmers we work with in Ghana are all part of the #Fairtrade co-operative Kuapa Kokoo. They supply cocoa to companies like @divinechocolate and @coopuk
The guaranteed minimum price has made a big difference and they're proud to be Africa's first Fair Trade Town
The global cocoa shortage has lead to higher prices. Sounds good for farmers but it's more complicated. @EqualExchange shares what's happening, including interconnected factors of #climate change, commodity markets & benefits of the #FairTrade supply chain https://t.co/AzuLO6O8n4
#DidYouKnow we have an eBay marketplace, making it easier than ever to #BuySocial? We sell lots of our brilliant #SocialEnterprise members' products, from fashion and beauty to food and drink.

We're super excited that our #ChocolateHasAName project is finally coming together. We have a group of people training all this week who will come back to the #Fairtrade cocoa growing community of New Koforidua in #Ghana ready to share the knowledge of #chocolate making
The Fairtrade mark is 30 this year. The impact has been fantastic but we can't get complacent - the job is not yet done. We need to keep buying Fairtrade products and keep up the pressure. Will you pledge to Make Your Mark by choosing Fairtrade?

@FairtradeUKEd We've been using this map with secondary school students - it's a really clear way to show how colonialism is at the root of the unfair global trade system
If you agree that the UK economy needs to be stronger, greener and fairer will you add your name to the mission statement and share too?

We've launched a petition calling on the UK Government to ensure that incoming deforestation legislation does not push extra costs on farmers 🌲
We are also calling on the UK Government to deliver on their climate funding commitments 🌴
