The only reasonably clear shot I managed of #Cornish#Chough this year. They were so much closer last year, when I didn't have camera; practically landed in front of us at one point. But at least we found them on the same stretch of #coastline (same field, actually). #corvid
@pvt_ak Lost so much to slugs this year: gherkins, peppers, squash, courgette, cucumbers. The biodegradable woolen slug pellets we normally use seem ineffective. We've grown better in the garden planters, with our resident frogs eating any that get too close.
Guess who was chasing #butterflies? I think this is a #Ringlet, but please feel to correct me if not, they're not one of my strengths. I was chasing these around a while to get some decent shots - could even be two different varieties. But I love their velvety brown #wings
Visited #SherwoodForest today; what a treat! Not many birds to be seen in the dense canopy, but peace and greenery in abundance. There is a #BeeTree in the forest that you can visit, but we stumbled across another natural #beehive in an old #oak deeper in the forest. #bees
Camera question, does any find the continuous shooting mode on their #camera (also called sports mode), loses clarity and definition of the subject. I had this #goldfinch in perfect clarity through the lens, but was so disappointed when I uploaded the shots.
I adore #swans. Watching the #cygnets explore the #lake and then take themselves of for a snooze on dry land was a joy. I was particularly pleased to get this #reflection shot.
This is the same shot of a #greywagtail. I love the broader image as the setting on the #lake is wonderful, however, I just had to see what the snack was, and I believe it was a #damselfly. #Tasty These are #fast little #birds, so pleased I managed to get a #picture.
Finally, after rubbish #weather, and being under the weather, we made it out! Spot the #squirrel!
It was only his noisy eating, and the dark pine cone that gave him away, otherwise, completely #camouflaged!
