A Tempe student who was detained by ICE along with his mother in May received a special eighth grade promotion ceremony from Arizona Congressman Greg Stanton.

Dilan Paredes was detained by ICE near his Tempe school and sent to the Dilley Immigration Processing Center in south Texas. He and his mother were released several days ago under The Flores Settlement, a legal agreement protecting minors from detainment — and now Paredes is getting the ceremony he missed out on.
