@Eddie101228 @stokieadam But was the original decision a clear and obvious error? I thought VAR wasn’t supposed to re litigate the offence rather check for errors . For instance if a player falls and he gives a penalty but VAR shows the player tripped over his own laces.

Also most hotels I have been to with leisure facilities rent o have open changing rooms with lockers around the side. Can’t actually think of anywhere recently with a changing room that only had cubicles

@debtmastermind @hayek_tendency Aside from tiny prep schools what school teaches that small a class? I went private, as do my children (all different schools) and up to gcse classes were about 25-27 per class. Less at a-level which was about 15.

@Matt56404055206 @NoEducationTax It will never raise the standards for all children, it will raise the standards of the particular school that their children are in and this will be by new equipment, paid for after school classes, sports teams etc. if anything it will increase the divide.

@NeathJack1 @IrritableChris Well yes and no - you will simply see private schools by the back door determined by house prices. The PTAs of those elite schools will raise a fortune to improve those schools and leave all the others behind. So ultimately it will happen but only a small amount of schools.

@on_jonesy @emubrigadier But then you aren’t tipping then. You are simply paying for the food and then paying the wage bill. Tips are simply a small amount to say thanks on top for giving me good service. Should be discretionary. Paying a wage surcharge is completely fine but it should be named as such.

@Vender2k10 @neilorpen For extreme situations the state is there to step in. That is the point of the welfare state, as it should. But that doesn’t excuse someone complaining that private fees are unfair because they can’t afford them when they could have afforded it for one child.

@Vender2k10 @neilorpen Right. But a) those stories are the minority- very rare to happen. And b) yes we before we had children we had a plan of what would happen if one of us were to die. We had a fully worked out plan of what we would do. I thought everyone did this..

@Vender2k10 @neilorpen That is so insulting to the people who plan. Lots of people only have one child for that exact reason. Stop taking responsibility from parents for making choices for their own family. You plan for changing circumstances. you don’t just live in the moment.

@Vender2k10 @neilorpen Surely if a parent can afford 2 children, they could have chosen to only have 1 (like many people do as they cost of raising a child to 18 is approximately the same as the cost of private fees) and use the money to send that child private if they wanted. Everyone has a choice

@Vender2k10 That is what bursaries are for- to give many children who would thrive in that sort of school an opportunity to do so. It isn’t for everyone so not everyone would want to avail themselves of the opportunity.

@Stormcloyd Someone who has one child and puts them in private education is far less wealthy than a person who can afford to have 3 and put them in state education. As far as I am concerned if you felt you can afford more than 2 children you are very rich.

@LindaPears87262 @philipfowler What is stopping her government funding the schools better though? They can just simply say we will fund all pupils to the tune of £20k a year then everyone is equal. They can cut budgets elsewhere they just choose not to.

@dicofran @Cox_A_R I keep saying this. Clearly the market has decided that the optimum asking to spend per child to get an excellent level of education is £20-£25k. Why doesn’t the government spend that and everyone is happy.

@GretaSc93741191 @VPointon What contacts do they get from private school? I don’t have a clue what my children’s friends parents do. In fact, my child couldn’t get any work experience as we had no one to ask. Any ‘contacts’ we have come from family and friends and nothing to do with the school.
