Popping back on here to share that yesterday I successfully defended my PhD candidacy project: a systematic review on self-labeling of mental illness. Was such a joy to discuss with my committee (all x-less except @matt_southward_ ) and check this milestone off!
This week’s #TraineeTuesday features @AllyHeiland , a rising fourth-year doctoral student in Clinical Psych at The Ohio State University🥳 Ally’s research focuses on how individuals with personality pathology regulate their emotions, particularly within interpersonal contexts.
Delighted @FallonRGoodman stopped by our clinical affective science seminar to talk social anxiety & emo reg: how people w/ soc anx feel more PA w/ others than alone & how consolidating knowledge after expectancy violation using EMA may be a promising light intervention!

New work reveals the impact of anxiety & depression on PhD students.

being a grad student after finals is just constant back and forth of thoughts like, “you should rest and relax you’ve worked really hard this semester and deserve it” and “hi girly remember the work you’ve been putting off until after finals yep we’re doing that now suck it up”
