Ed Davey has written to Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson demanding she WITHDRAW official EHRC guidance protecting female-only spaces in toilets and changing rooms.
Let that land.
The Equalities and Human Rights Commission — a statutory body — has produced legally grounded guidance telling employers and public bodies that biological men should not access women’s single-sex spaces.
This is not opinion.
This is not politics.
This is the settled legal position following the Supreme Court’s landmark ruling on the meaning of “woman” under the Equality Act.
And Ed Davey wants it gone.
His stated reason?
The guidance is not “compatible with long-standing British values.”
British values.
He used those words to argue AGAINST protecting women’s single-sex spaces.
The same Liberal Democrats who lecture the country about tolerance, inclusion and human rights are now lobbying a Labour minister to tear up statutory guidance that protects every woman in Britain who walks into a changing room, a refuge or a hospital ward.
This is not a fringe position within the Lib Dems.
Their leader wrote the letter.
The party has chosen its side.
It is not the side of women.
Repost if you think women’s single-sex spaces should be protected.
Farmers have figured out that the cheapest pesticide is a strip of flowers.
When you plant wildflowers through a crop field, not just around the edge but in strips running through the middle, you get ladybugs, lacewings, hoverflies, and parasitic wasps living in the field instead of visiting it.
They eat the aphids, the caterpillars, and the mites for free, all summer long.
In controlled trials, fields with tailored flower strips had leaf-beetle numbers 40 to 50% lower and crop damage cut by around 60%, enough to drop below the threshold where spraying was even considered worth it.
The flowers attract a standing army to our fields.
We spent decades engineering chemicals to kill the insects eating the crop, when the insects that eat those insects would have worked for the price of seed.
No matter how you vote in the #LocalElections, Labour will hold power nationally for 3 years with a big majority, that won’t change
What WILL change is your local council’s Competence, Accountability & the Quality of Your Public Services
That choice is yours
Your vote matters
@RoyalMail just had to chase our post women up the road, after receiving a text to say I wasn’t in. I watched her walk up to our door and deliver a magazine and my driving license! The parcel contained medication - 2hours late! Very poor service.
Slough Depot do better!
@ssencommunity wow what poor customer service!! Cut the power to the whole street with no notice. Your guys were in the road yesterday, so they must have known. Total chaos working from home, new windows being installed etc. DO BETTER
@TNLUK Congratulations you broke it. It can’t verify that I’m in the uk., so I can’t sign in. And don’t tell me to check my location settings because I have and they’re set correctly.
Farage doesn’t care about the NHS. He wants to privatise it and replace it with an American-style insurance system.
That’s Trump’s America, don’t let it become Farage’s Britain.
Wow @SkyMediaUK what a debacle! Trying to move our broadband to you and ending up for hours on the phone and numerous cancellations by yourselves. None of our due to us. Please sort this out!!
Anyone on benefits in this country. Pause for a second.
There is a reason those benefits exist. Because life broke somewhere. Illness. Disability. Caring. Redundancy. Wages that do not cover rent anymore. That is reality not failure.
Now listen to what Reform are actually saying. Not dog whistles. Not rumours. Out loud.
They want to charge you for things you do not currently pay for. They want austerity back. They want to tighten. Cut. Squeeze. Again. Even lower wages. Did you miss that bit?
Many people on benefits already use food banks. Many already sit in the dark watching the meter tick down. Many already skip meals. That is now. Before Reform touch anything.
So picture it. Same life. Same bills. Same stress. Then extra charges on top. Less support. More punishment dressed up as discipline.
How are you meant to survive that. Honestly.
This is not theoretical. They are not hiding it. They are proud of it.
Things are bad right now. Reform are openly promising to make them worse for you.
So the question is simple.
Are you okay with that.
Are you genuinely okay voting for people who are telling you they will take more from you when you already have nothing left.
I struggle to understand it. Then I stop pretending.
Because if you are choosing this anyway it means something else comes first. Anger. Blame. Racism. Someone to point at while your own plate gets emptier.
If that is the choice then own it. Say it. Do not pretend this is about helping ordinary people.
They are screaming what they want to do to you. Loud. Proud. No shame.
And still some of you cheer.
That is not being ignored.
That is choosing your own harm.

@UKIYENGARYOGA owing to vertigo I am retiring from teaching. I have a collection of yoga equipment, which I would like to give to anyone who would like it. It will need to be collected from my home in Slough. If anyone is interested please DM me.
@TalkTalkGroup just had the most ridiculous conversation with one of your sales team. Called out of the blue about my WiFi contract, which ends on 7th Dec. When I said I was thinking of leaving she decided to tell me there was nothing I could do as I was still in contact!
Wow, @anglianwindowss are a huge disappointment. Their rep tells you they can make your bespoke replacement double glazed windows and they take your 25%deposit. Then the surveyor comes round and says they can’t! False advertising.
