Our hearts are with the entire OMC community right now as they cope with this terrible loss. We are currently working on ways NFA can support the OMC community, students and families during this difficult time. Please keep our neighbors in your prayers.

“We have to create schools where students can believe in their creative genius and not feel like they’re not enough because their genius doesn’t fit into a box that was never even created for them.” @DenaSimmons

We're in week two of unpacking NFA's vision statement. We'll be looking at our students and how they "treasure self, others and the Earth this week! #livingNFAsvisionstatement
Let’s take some time to “unpack” the NFA student vision statement, as we get ready for the start of another great school year. How do NFA students live out the vision statement?
Stay tuned these next few weeks and hear from our students on what our vision statement means to them.

Today, Derek Chauvin was found guilty. But our legal system is still far from just, and students may still feel a lack of closure. We hope you’ll reaffirm the value of Black lives and create space for students to process. These resources can help.

@TeachMrReed I was pulled over for “stopping at a stop sign for 5 seconds and not my (the cop’s) preferred 7 seconds”. I was pulled out of my car and forced to sit in the curb while 3 other cars were called in to search my car.
"My daughter believed she had all the information she needed when the teacher remained silent. Therein lies the problem. When educators are silent about racism, marginalized students assume the educator is comfortable with the status quo." @ValeriaBrownEdu
