@cataclysmza Unfortunately it looks like the regional prices might not be quite so regional. The USD prices I was seeing were not in fact the actual USD prices - just what they’re presented as if you have a ZA IP address. Looks like we’re paying the equivalent and in some cases more than US.
Yessssss, this is amazing. And from what I can see it completely eliminates the cost benefit calculation I always had to weigh against Steam, prices basically match. Good on GOG.
GOG now supports local currencies (RON, HUF, ZAR) and regional pricing in Romania, Hungary, and South Africa. 😁

I think they share many audio-visual characteristics that subconsciously appeals to the animal part of our brain that gambling games exploit. And while these games aren't about gambling, I can't help but think they're partly shaping how people approach risk/reward dynamics IRL.
@RemapRadio Interesting discussion regarding the gambling around video games and adjacent. How do you feel about an increasing number of games leaning heavily on gambling mechanics or actual games for game design? Noticed a fair number cropping up now and it does make me queasy.
Off the top of my head (and I want to be clear, I'm not throwing shade at these games, just noting a pattern): Clover Pit, Slots and Daggers, Dungeon Roulette, Raccoin, Gear Slots, Peglin, Buckshot Roulette, Gambler's Table, Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers, Dice with Death...
@doctorow@pluralistic Is there a chance of you doing a write-up on your Bsky setup? I’ve been considering the same but I don’t really understand how you can appear and interact on Bsky without creating an account (and accepting their ToS), even if you do run a PDS - don’t you have to use their client?
Can anyone that still follows me on this hell app confirm if they're able to download their Twitter archive or not? I've been attempting it but I just end up in an endless loop regardless of which device or browser I use.
For those that are downloading their Twitter archive, note that it sucks. Your likes will not display but exist as a json and your bookmarks are not included either. I suggest you grab it regardless of whether you’re sticking around.
I’ll also say that this whole thing is fucking gross because as people leave the site, delete tweets, etc - the history of the site is essentially erased. Certain viewpoints that had equal weight vanish, and it becomes very easy to argue that it was always this way.
@NickdeBruyne Oh, yeah. I was linking the post specifically as an example of why you might want to retain your Twitter account. I think it matters more for professionals and public figures, though
