@md1talk Third generation cephalosporins should not be used when E. cloacae is present due to high induction of AmpC resistance. Cefepime should be the drug of choice.
@BradSpellberg Thank you for your reply, then what would u recommend in terms of duration and oral options for a patient with recent tympanomastoidectomy for chronic suppurative otitis media admitted with meningitis and all his cultures are negative.
@BradSpellberg There is no obvious extraintestinal manifestation in this case, but I am afraid of the risk of relapse/recurrence with the short duration given his immunocompromised state
