Dr. Premjeeth Moodbidri, Aloka's Programme Manager demonstrating new features for the Aloka app that were added for an easy use of the partners and the Aloka Entrepreneurs.
As soon as our Aloka Yatra got over, we are ready with our Aloka Summit 2018.
Aloka Summit is an annual meeting with the partners to facilitate their work and activity over the year, and get them to share their experience with Aloka with each other.
On the third day of Aloka Yatra, today we are screening people from Bansa Gad village of Mussoorie.
Living in remote location, the daily wagers i.e. most of the residents from Bansa Gad have to travel more than 9kms to Mussoorie to earn livelihood.
Positive feedback from the patients themselves was a big proof of their satisfaction with Aloka's commitment to serve the underserved.
We thank Parvatiya Jan Kalyan Sansthan, Swami Rama Himalayan University and the Panchayat Pradhan of Mohabbewala, Dehradun for their cooperation.
As our Aloka Yatra enters the second day, we get more patients living in underserved area with no awareness about eye care.
They got through the three-stage process of screening and then selected the spectacles of their choice or were referred for surgery in case of cataract.
The Aloka team is all set for the four-day-long UV-Protect Yatra in Uttarakhand.
Yatra is aloka's way of reaching out to people in remote remote places and providing them the vision treatment they need. This time, we will take UV protection into consideration as well.
Maya Organic is a livelihood development initiative through a network of artisans through their skill to make wooden products.
Aloka is proud to contribute to this cause by training the employees as Aloka Entrepreneurs for them to generate a separate livelihood of their own.
Remember Sathya Darshini from Mandya?
In our last camp there, we found a bunch of enthusiastic young minds who showed interest in becoming Aloka Entrepreneurs.
This 3rd & 4th of May, our Optometrists Nagaraj P. and Sreeroop S. are conducting a hands-on training session for them.

Aloka aims to reach out to people all over India and provide vision care to everyone in need.
After some amazing impact in the South, we're now heading towards the North. Our Pre-Yatra in Uttarakhand was the beginning of that attempt. Needless to say, it was a huge success.
Our two-day Assam camp in March was a huge success. And the result could not have been better than this.
Aloka Entrepreneurs who were trained by Aloka Optometrist Nagaraj are now holding camps on their own.
We thank Dr Ringsar from Baptist Christian Hospital for his assistance.
