'VCP'. This is one of the deadliest, highest-probability Swing Trading setups in the world.
The retail herd thinks VCP is just a random chart pattern, but in reality, it is the clearest structural footprint of 'Supply Absorption' (Smart Money quietly accumulating inventory).
1. The Timeframe (Where to Hunt)
For swing trading, we strictly look for VCP bases on the Daily (1D) or Weekly (1W) charts. VCP does not work on 5-minute or 15-minute intraday charts because they are polluted with algorithmic noise. A legitimate institutional VCP base takes anywhere from 3 weeks to 6 months to fully develop.
2. The Pivot & Entry Point (When to Pull the Trigger)
VCP stands for Volatility Contraction Pattern—meaning the price swings get progressively tighter from left to right. On the left side of the base, the stock might drop 30% and bounce. Then it drops 15% and bounces. Finally, on the far right, the drop narrows to just 3% or 5%, and the price action becomes completely "Sideways" and extremely "Tight".
This final, tightest contraction is called "The Pivot" (or the Cheat area).
The Secret Clue: During the formation of this final pivot, the Volume at the bottom must be completely DRY. Zero volume proves that there is absolutely no supply (sellers) left in the market. The Operator has absorbed every loose share.
The Entry: When the price breaks above the high (resistance) of this final tight 'Pivot' supported by a massive surge in Volume, that is your exact Entry Point. We never buy blindly inside the base; we wait for the algorithmic trigger.
3. The Stop-Loss (The Sniper's Shield)
The VCP setup is mathematically superior because the Stop-Loss (SL) is incredibly small.
The SL Placement: Your Stop-Loss is placed strictly just below the 'Low' of that final tight 'Pivot'. Because the final pivot itself is only a 3% to 5% contraction, your risk is mathematically capped at 3-4%. If the Market Maker ignites the stock from this pivot, you capture a massive 20-30% trend. If the breakout is a trap, you take a tiny scratch loss and step aside (Risk:Reward = 1:5 or higher).@11873Bharat
