Gunshots at two Toronto synagogues last night. When relentless antisemitic incidents garner little more than performative tweets from leaders, dismissal as over-reporting, or justifications of “it’s antizionism not antisemitism”, this violent escalation is the inevitable result.

תקרית האמבולנסים הקשה מאד בדרום הרצועה מעלה שאלות קשות ונוקבות. לא צריך לקבל באופן אוטומטי כל טענה בכלי התקשורת הזרים, אבל בטח אי אפשר לעצום עינים.

כששרים בממשלה, חברי כנסת, מפקדים בכירים בעבר ורבנים משפיעים מדברים בשפה של "אין חפים מפשע" ובשפה של הפעלת כוח ללא כל מגבלה, הדברים מחלחלים למטה, ומביאים גם לתוצאות קשות ובלתי נסבלות וגם לניסיונות טיוח.

הצבא חייב לספק תשובות על מה שארע בתקרית הזו, לנקוט בצעדים הנדרשים למרות המתקפות והקמפיינים הצפויים, ולהראות צעדים של ממש לתיקון הכשלים הערכיים והמבצעיים.

אי אפשר לעבור לסדר היום על אירוע מסוג זה.

@cynthia_godsoe I see where you’re coming from, this is too broad a generalization. In my circles, distinguishing b/w Hamas & Palestinians is the norm & many of us support both Israel’s security & Palestinian self-determination. Range of voices is far more complex than this statement suggests.
