I like how Real Madrid handled Nico Paz's situation. It's business, even though Como will feel offended.

But look at it this way: Real Madrid never wanted to sell Paz outright. If they had loaned him to Como, they would have paid loan fees for two years before he returned to Real Madrid.

Instead, Real sold him for a low fee (€6m) and inserted a higher buy-back fee (€9m) in the contract. So, if Como develops him, they will get a €3m reward for a job well done.

This method is a glorified loan deal, but it rewards the club that develops him. If it were a loan, Como would have lost money and still sent him back.

The way I see Nico Paz, even at Como, is that he's a Real Madrid player. It's as simple as that. The only way Real Madrid won't activate that clause is if the boy didn't improve and surpass the buy-back value.

They use this method a lot. There is nothing wrong with it. It's Como that got carried away as if Paz was their player. They used him for two seasons and will get a €3m reward. That's better than a normal loan deal.
