i need to fact check that .. seems a lot .. // answer : Real selloff, yes. "Wipe out", no, unless you were heavily leveraged.

What happened today (Mon 28 Sept): Comex gold fell 2.11% to $4,197.40 and silver 3.59% to $62.47 as yields rose. Other reports put spot gold near $4,215 and silver around $63.77. Reuters reported gold down more than 2% intraday as higher oil prices strengthened expectations of further US rate hikes. Across the metals complex, roughly $550B was lost in hours.
