I've just learned that my nana, who has been in a care home for 5 years, has dementia and her mind is quickly deteriorating.
I've also learned that no one has visited her at all for at least 2 and a half years.
Not even for the holidays.

I'm trying to see her for the first time in 6 years while she still has some semblance of herself.
I'm travelling from London to New York.
I've set a low goal (the flight alone is around £700), but the more funds I can raise the longer I can stay, the more things I can buy to make her comfortable, and the more I can visit her. The funds will also help while I have to take time off of work.

I'll be using the current money from the rigging fundraiser to go home as soon as my work allows, and the rigging fundraiser will be turned into a fund for this specific situation instead.
All goals will remain the same. All incoming donations will be counted towards the fundraiser and its goals.
