Yes. You can teach yourself how to write. It just takes a lot of time and involves many dead ends. If you want a more guided approach, take my foundational fiction class starting August. Details and syllabus: https://t.co/h8sExp37Dx. Retweets highly appreciated.
@theMagunga It is quite scenic, actually. That is the route our cycling group will be using when we embark on our book drive ride. See itinerary below. We are appealing for support: https://t.co/1L1Daubtjv
I teach a reading class for writers. This one is for you if you want to understand What other writers are doing in their stories, Why they are doing and How they are doing it. Syllabus and details here: https://t.co/pmv7z9cFS7
Some of us are enthusiasts who yearn for 30 kilometres and we also hold space for beginners whose satisfaction comes at just under 10 kilometres. But what binds the Band is the community. We do, and hope to hold space for everyone.
When you read Chinua Achebe's Things Fall Apart, at night snakes are not called by name. They are called strings. I recall my mother would tell me the same while growing in Homa Bay County. She would say to call them tond bungu (wild string), to avert unexpected visits from them.
We also have a fund drive running on M-Changa, and we hope to collect KES 500,000 to purchase more books, support logistics, and support the riders. We have 18 people confirmed to partake in the ride, and this number continues to grow.

We know that there are people who would like to support, but may not be able to ride the full distance. We call them Friends of BoB (Band of Bikers). Their donations: books, funds, and other support are like a springboard to actualising the drive. Will you be BoB's friend?
My friends and I are cycling about 400 kilometres from Nairobi to Homa Bay for a book drive and we're extending an invitation to you to join and support us, and to help us amplify it. 🧵
