The passing of a devotee is an exceptional outpouring of grace.
The Bhakti Marga family has lost a dear member today. Madhavadas former swami left his body a few hours ago and has gone to the eternal abode of the lotus feet of Sriman Narayana which is the real Vaikuntha. His service was amazing. For 27 years, in any situation, he stood by me. He was the founding members of Shree Peetha Nilaya ashram and he helped in building it from scratch. He also led two more ashrams to be built, Sri Vithala Dham in Germany and Adhokshadham in Austria. When a devotee leaves their body, the universe takes a deep breath of silence. A beloved atma is on its way back to Paramatma. And there will never be a life like that again in this world. That particular personality, those set of circumstances, that way of loving Bhagavan will never come back. This is why every life is so precious to the SatGuru. He knows how short time is here. One comes for just a few days. Take inspiration from your spiritual family, take inspiration from the devotees. They spend their lives serving something greater than themselves and are freed forever from the bonds of this world. The true devotees never need to come back to this world because all their karma is taken care of by the SatGuru. He puts His complete force and love behind the cleaning of the jeevatma, returning them to Bhagavan in their pure state. But only a few understand and let their lives become an outpouring of Bhagavan’s mercy. They become an instrument in His hands. Till the last moment, Madhavadas served me and has claimed his eternal place at the lotus feet of Sri Hari. To say goodbye to a devotee is tough also for the SatGuru, but when one does everything possible to love and serve Bhagavan in all, the SatGuru finds solace in that. Sadgati Prapti Rastu, Om Shanti. Blessings to the departed soul on their way to Bhagavan, may everyone find true peace.
The tangible presence of God.
Everyone believes that God is a matter of faith. Or some being far away to meet in some otherworldly realm or beyond death. He is sometimes even thought of as a figment of an overactive imagination. Is that all He is really? Who is God? Where is He? Is He an idea born in our minds?
Sant Janabai used to see the tangible real Vitthala come to help her in her daily tasks. He would help her to grind grains, wash clothes, and make cow dung disks for Yagnas. He would wash her hair and put her to sleep when she was tired. She would cook food for them and sing to Him the abhangas she had written in her love for Him during the day.
He wasn’t a figment of her imagination. He was as real as the other people who walked around her. In fact, in her life He was much more real than the other people who walked around her. Because He was her only reality. She had given us everything, just to be at His Feet. The others couldn’t see His divine form which was shrouded from loveless, cynical, and arrogant eyes. But Sant Namdev would also see Him and knew that He came to be with Janabai every single day. He came to Namdev and Janabai sometimes at the same time. In two places, two bodies, the Lord of the World danced with Namdev and ate with Janabai. Enjoying their love, showering them with His sweetest presence, and sometimes giving the world a glimpse of His beautiful form to show that they spoke the truth when they said He was next to them.
It is true even today. The Lord of the World is here next to us. But our minds are so narrow and darkened that we can’t even accept that possibility. He gives Darshan everyday. Every single day He goes in search of His bhaktas and spends time with them. God is as tangibly real as the food you eat, the people you talk to, the body you call your own. Pray hard and work hard on the Adesh given by the SatGuru to know His presence around you. Once you’ve tasted the sweetest nectar of His love and continuous presence with you, all else will fade away.
The Mother is the divine herself through her selfless service to the family.
Her focus and care for everyone. Leaving her birth home and becoming a beacon of joy and love in a new family. Opening her heart so much that she can accommodate all as her own. This is the heart of the divine mother. Each mother is a unique part of the eternal divine mother. Loving, caring, fiercely protective, joyful, innocent, endless facets of Her beauty. Countless forms of the divine mother are present on this planet itself. Beyond the personality of this world, everyone is a spark of the divine. But how many times do we truly see them like that? We’re often stuck in the external and limited; however, this day and all other celebrations of the divine should remind you of that eternal loving reality behind everything. The deep love of a mother gives such a close glimpse of God’s own love. So much so that when Bhagavan, the SatGuru, incarnates in this world, his first connection is also with the mother. That endless divinity also longs for Her unconditional love and care, the innocent and fully offered self. And when the SatGuru’s divine self is revealed to the world, the verse written by Guru Arjan Dev Ji fits the SatGuru so perfectly. “gurdayv maataa gurdayv pitaa gurdayv suaamee parmaysuraa”. (Meaning- The Divine Guru is my mother, the Divine Guru is my father, the Divine Guru is my Lord and Supreme God.) May the divine mother shower her blessings on all. May all families, mothers, fathers, and children, be inspired to be with each other with love, care, joy, and peace. Happy Mother’s Day to everyone.

Today’s very special day is Radha Ashtami. Born on the eighth day of the month’s bright fortnight, Radha Maharani is another aspect of Bhagavan’s Infinity. She is His eternal companion. In their reality, there is no one who is greater or lesser, closer or further. The depth of one’s devotion determines the extent to which one experiences Bhagavan, how much He comes close to oneself. Many people try to reach Bhagavan by their efforts, but has one been able to touch Bhagavan’s heart so much that He uses His efforts to come close to one? This is very beautiful. True Bhakti brings Prem closer and closer to itself. Because Bhakti only knows how to surrender, how to be humble, how to forget oneself. To remember, love, serve, be kind, and increase the happiness of the Beloved, of the Beloved hiding within everyone and everything. Radha Maharani was one such person. Her loving devotion pulled Bhagavan close to her heart. And she loved and served everyone He loved. In the land of Vraj, all came together and grew towards Him because they continuously only served each other. The animals and trees also radiated God’s light because of their deep love for Him. Everyone forgot about themselves. Big books may not record all such stories. Great storytellers may not know all such names. But it doesn’t matter. Bhagavan knows everything. He knows what’s real and what’s not. He knows which heart loves Him deeply, hidden from the world. And which one is simply making a show of the outside. Radha Maharani didn’t open her eyes until Sri Krishna came to see her. She didn’t smile until she saw Sri Krishna’s smile. She didn’t speak any words until Sri Krishna spoke to her. Her whole life was a deep dedication to Sri Krishna. So much so, that her name is inseparable from His. Her form became alike to His. And her inner being was immersed in His Prem. On her appearance day, we celebrate the most humble Bhakti, the absolute highest Prem, that only knows how to give to others with utmost kindness, asking nothing in return. And in doing so, wins the heart of the Eternal Beloved. May Radha Maharani help everyone to walk on the path of Bhakti to Sri Hari. Shubh Radha Ashtami to everyone.

The final freedom.
There will come a time in everyone’s life when the sadGuru will bless you to be completely freed. Freed from all pain. From all bonds. From all misery. It depends on your sincerity and efforts whether that blessing arrives for you today or many lifetimes from now. It is not enough to simply say that you love Guru and God. Words are cheap. Anything can be said. But how do you behave when the hardest things come to pass. How do you act when it seems like He has distanced you from Him. Have you cleaned out the snakes and poison in your heart and mind? Or they still fester under unexplored rocks and in the dark corners of your self?
On the day that the sadGuru sees you are completely ready. He will Himself come to you to free you. And the most important decision of your existence will be in front of your eyes. On the one hand, eternal freedom, glory, peace, health, beauty, and every kind of bliss possible. And on the other hand, a bond. One single bond. One bond that will determine your future road. Will you willingly, earnestly, choose that bond? The bond to willing tie yourself to the Lotus Feet of your sadGuru? The One from whom all freedom, all peace, all bliss came. Will you wish to still remain at His feet to serve Him back in return? To give back an atom in exchange for the entire universe that you have received from Him. Will you try? Will you wish for Him even when the greatest joys, bliss, and happiness lie on the other side?
The remembrance of God, truly from the heart, when you realize who He is to you, is like a lightning bolt originating from the inside. One walks through life in a very superficial way. Never realizing truth for what it is. Never realizing who one is, why one is here, where one wants to go. All is forgotten in the thick veils of maya. But beyond those layers of darkness and superficiality lies one’s true home, one’s true self, one’s true love. That which you have forgotten is the most beloved to you. Him, who you don’t give any importance to is your only true love. Without His company, any joy one experiences no matter how big, never feels entirely complete. There is always the feeling of a piece missing. Have you never wondered why? Have you never tried to explore within yourself why this world, this life, has never made you fully content? The atma agrees to be embodied for one reason alone- to remember and love its Beloved Bhagavan. When the atma starts to remind one of Him, the shock is quite large. Because one is living life upside down before that. Everything is reversed and twisted. Love which is the most important is given the least importance in the world. Bhagavan who is the dearest one is forgotten completely in the world. And the atma who is the true self is believed to not even exist. And if this is still not enough, understand this- for eternity the atma longs for Bhagavan, never forgetting, never reducing its intensity, never walking away. Yet when one comes here to grow closer to Him, one does everything else but does not love Him. So when one is reminded of the Beloved Master of the heart, what happens? All the veils of maya are pierced at once. Like an enormous bolt of lightning that allows one to see Him through all the layers of darkness. For a brief moment. A small glimpse. And then it is hidden again. So the atma keeps sending these lightning bolts from inside. To wake one up completely. Until the darkness is entirely illuminated by His presence, His name, His smile, His eyes, His feet. And only Sri Hari exists. This state of illumination of Prem is enlightenment, complete liberation. The action of the atma to jolt one wake, is Atma Kriya Yoga, it is Bhakti. And the acceptance of the shock of the inside to remind oneself of the True Beloved, it is Sharanagati. The 3 always go together - Prem, Bhakti, Sharanagati - SatGuru, bhakta, and the Adesh (guidance).
