Went out today and met a group of ladies doing really well. We started talking about work, life, and the future of different sectors. Somehow, the conversation suddenly turned into how men have ruined everything and how men are terrible🥲.

One of them asked, What haven’t men destroyed?
So I jokingly said, “The Garden of Eden.”

And there was a whole conversation about how Adam was at fault. You won’t believe it😭. One said Adam threw Eve under the bus and lied against her.

In my head I was like Ah.
The men bashing I heard today 😭.

I know some people still don’t get the danger of this dubious tax reform. so let me break it down.

Yes, workers’ taxes were reduced.
Yes, low-income earners won’t pay income tax.
Yes, some taxes were reduced and consolidated.

But here’s the blindspot.

The money government “removed” will be collected back through sales tax.
Almost everything you buy except basic necessities will now be taxed.

Something you used to buy for ₦5,000 will now cost ₦7,000 because of tax.
Now multiply that extra ₦2,000 by how many times you buy that item in a year.
You will end up paying more than the income tax they claimed to reduce.

And let’s be honest about Nigeria.
Once taxes increase, everything becomes expensive.
Even sellers of tax-exempt goods will raise prices and blame taxes.
Does this government have a real system to control price gouging?
We all know they dont.

Now to the most painful part: the politicians.

When this bill was first introduced, I supported it because it included a pathway for accountability.
Derivation was increased.
Revenue sharing was tied to productivity.
Unproductive politicians were supposed to feel the pressure.

But they went behind our backs and removed the accountability part.
They kept the part where citizens pay more, and dumped the part where leaders are forced to perform.

So what does that mean?

We will keep paying taxes.
Governors will keep collecting money.
And there will still be no accountability.

Corporations will hire tax experts and legally dodge most of this.
The system is broken we know that.
So who really pays?
You and me.

We’ll struggle to afford things we used to buy easily.
Politicians won’t feel it at all because their revenue has increased from our taxes.

Who does that?

If you still don’t understand after this, I honestly can’t help you.

Now back to business. Man narrated and explained how we will get to the market, if I don't trust Fulani men till date about JUDGING DISTANCE please doit blame me😁 my eyes have seen one million and one.

Now we mobilised and ready to go even though we know it will be a very difficult task.

Because separating terrorists from normal market people will be an almost impossible task.

We walked to an extent where exhausted everything called strength in us. I turned to OiC. Sir, I think we have take another step, by aborting this mission, the next step is go back make a proper plan and gather IR then we can come back.

Oga said since we are already close let's continue and just finish the operation once and for all, so the innocent civilians can have peace go into their business without thinking of paying any ransom.

Now, others suggested too, we should go back.

We went back, after a week now we have proper survey and view of the whole thing.

The day we went for the operation was not market day but go directly to the terrorist camp and do the needful.

It was one hell of a task, before we arrive they have proper deployment, the sentry man spotted something and fired a warning shot.

The key to understanding Nigerians is to realise that the common underlying denominator behind all Nigerian cultures is COWARDICE.

When cowards meet a good, transparent person who aspires to lead for the right reasons, they will turn into prime Christine Amanpour and Trevor Noah. JAMB questions and merciless mockery here and there. When cowards meet an unapologetically evil person who threatens/uses violence and calls their bluff, they just melt away and disappear. They only tackle those who do not hit back!

That's why every Tom, Dick and Harry opened a "holding government accountable" NGO, and protest-for-hire became an entire cottage industry in Abuja under Goodluck Jonathan, but across the 9 years of Muhammadu Tooth Picker and Chicago Drug Lord, they've suddenly remembered that holding power accountable is dangerous.

Cowards are only brave when there are no consequences! That's why they will definitely tackle someone like Peter Obi for saying something clear, obvious, and manifestly true, but if the exact comments were made by, say Nyesom Wike, you will not see ⅛ of this reaction. They know that PO will probably start explaining himself, which makes them feel powerful, but Wike will send a demolition team to their house instead of speaking English with them.

Even when they make the right choice, their cowardice still shines through, which is why in 2015 when they voted for Buhari, people were talking incredible amounts of big talk - "make country ungovernable," "parallel government," "give GEJ the Gbagbo treatment," "Don't make us repeat 1966" - but in 2023 when they voted for an actual leader, it became "#AllEyesOnTheJudiciary." Nigerian big talk and hyper aggression is only for those who will not hit back.

If you aspire to lead Nigerians, it's as simple as understanding the group psychology of the world's largest population of cowards, and learning how to manipulate it.
