I'm not super good at Kingdom Hearts gameplay but one of its biggest pulls for the later games for me is how much of the combat is done in the air. Bro's name is literally Sora.
wait...
- darker aesthetic compared to previous games
- involves characters in multiple factions
- large scale gothic city
- versus xiii: fights over crystals, missing link: fragments/pieces
- cancelled nomura projects and also part of a larger mythos/phase of each series

“KH4’s combat looks like KH3 combat!!!”
I mean… yeah? Did you expect otherwise? They’re running the same engine (Unreal). It’s built on the same foundation.
KH3’s combat wasn’t even *that* different from KH2’s, honestly. The main differences were just in the physics because of both development teams shifting around and the transition to a new engine. But even still, KH3’s combat system was built on the same foundation as KH2’s combat.
KH4 is using both the same development team from KH3 and the same engine (albeit a newer version); it makes sense it would look similar to KH3’s combat system. They don’t have to completely reinvent it, just refine it.
this made me cry when I saw this as a khux player 😭 even though my user wasn’t there it was so emotional seeing people I knew pop up on the side like omg that was oomf
Guys, this wasnt meant as a malicious dig that KH is better than FF. This was juat a visual to show how KH is so back after 4 years of radio silence. Personally both of these are in my top 3 of all time. Stop jumping to negative conclusions we can like both series
