Not only is Crystal in 'legal' right (there is no prohibitionn on smudging under Residential Tenancy Act or her lease), but I advocate against landlords especially those from my 'cultural' community who evict Indigenous women and profit off property on unceded Indigenous land
My sis Crystal Smith, Tsimshian & Haisla, is up against her former landlord who discriminatd against her & evicted her for smudging. Some Punjabis asked me to offer legal support to Parminder Mohan, HELL NO. I know where i stand #vanre#vanpoli#cdnpoli

Catch our acting Executive Director, Raj Sen on CBC Radio One at 8:20 this morning! He'll be sharing some information about our MAKE/SPACE Mural Project. Don't forget that submissions are open until the 16th-- we're so excited to hear your stories and see your vision.
It is with a heavy heart that we tell this very real story. People ask, "Why Candy?" Well it's because it's happening to so many trans women of color like her, and these women are the center of our show. I hope your mourning pushes you to show up for other Candy girls. #PoseFX

Tip: if the POC in the room are huddled together and/ or talking predominantly among themselves, chances are they don't feel comfortable and feel pressure to perform/ exhibit certain behaviors deemed as acceptable to the other folks in the room.
I've seen/ experienced this lots in spaces that are meant to be "inclusive." All you have to do is look around at the POC in the room- the code switching and uncomfortable/ awkward convos are a dead giveaway.
A reminder police and RCMP were started too solve the Indian problem... @vicpdcanada don't even get the respect of having police officers who issued the abuse removed from the local police force here in Victoria instead they are politely retired
