>only 27% own a Digital Edition.
>In 2024, 55% of PS5 consoles sold included a disc drive, compared to 45% for digital-only models.
Sony Santa Monica Studio’s Cory Barlog confirms announces a new Kratos-led God of War game is coming after Laufey, connecting directly to it🚀
✅“Everything we are doing in the Faye game is a continuation of what came before and to set up and expand what comes next.
✅Phranque has been around since the beginning.
✅It's interesting to see how to build this world out.
✅Everything in the game is setting up for something so amazing.”
How do you feel about this?🤔
Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser on Physical Media:
“I love physical media, I think everyone does. If people want that, I think companies should provide it.”
Did you guys press the wrong button @CallofDuty? I don't recall classic CoD matchmaking taking so long to evaluate and refresh available players while searching and every lobby is disbanding now. It's too early to speak on how strict the skill part of SBMM feels since day 1 of a new update is always on the sweatier side but so far, this "classic" matchmaking has felt much slower and has made my experience noticeably worse. https://t.co/0iRXqLqlF7
Call of Duty referred to Black Ops 7's "Open" matchmaking as a "Classic" matchmaking experience.
Today, they are saying that a new system that is "inspired by" the classic matchmaking is being added, alongside Open.
So what is Classic then vs. now....
As of June 2026, only 27% of PS5 console sales were the digital only version.
The vast majority of people went with the disk drive model - more options is better.
Call of Duty has to stop with the PR talk when addressing the community and actually answer the questions we are asking.
Years of SBMM white papers and using the biggest buzzwords and grammar they could to discuss SBMM has gotten old and we are tired of the corporate talk.
this is the most toxic relationship I've ever experienced, just continued to be gaslight lit, and lied to, I wont hold my breath on this one. or they will do it for a week and change it back saying people wanted the skill based match making
Call of Duty is making one of its biggest matchmaking changes in years.
Starting with Black Ops 7, the default matchmaking will use a new Open Matchmaking, a system where player skill is only minimally considered when creating lobbies.
Instead, matchmaking will focus more on connection quality and varied experiences from match to match
Activision says the system is inspired by the feel of classic Call of Duty games
Google has been fined over $1 billion by the European Commission for breaching the Digital Markets Act
It allegedly promoted its own services over competitors on Search and restricted access to alternative offers on Google Play
Sony knew its decision to kill PlayStation 5 discs would spark outrage, and reportedly issued staff with the "strictest" social media guidelines to stop them from publicly commenting. https://t.co/DmWz5EwhQx
Since their announcement of ending physical media by January 2028, and Sony have been exposed and/or accused of various despicable behaviors🚀
✅Pretending physical media is obsolete in order to justify starting a monopoly, and ending second hand market and player ownership
✅Implementing regional pricing which will likely end up making games even more expensive
✅Depriving over %60 of countries in the world from video games, as more than %60 don’t have a dedicated PlayStation Store, and/or no reliable internet to experience games properly
✅Accused of engineering data that includes DLC, MTX and free to play/digital only games among the comparison of physical vs. digital to pretend that the demand for digital is much higher than it is
✅Accused of using bots to defend digital-only on social media
✅Lack of respect for fans by showing they’re above addressing players directly and that players will come along eventually and profits from digital only will compensate for those who leave
✅Reported to be tightly controlling their own employees regarding addressing anything to fans about physical media
✅Using their sick puppet media to disingenuously interpret unverified and engineered data to defend Sony’s move
Whether all of these turn out to be too true or not is yet to be seen, but Sony’s reputation is the lowest ever and the lack of communication is building up immense resentment towards them. Which is a far cry from how they used to be the darling of the industry.
This isn’t a smear campaign nor libel, nor a push for harassing studios, but you can’t treat gamers like children and expect them to spend like adults unquestioned.
You cannot put too many roadblocks in someone’s hobby and suck the soul out of it, and show total hubris, apathy and disrespect expect no reaction from dedicated supporters who have been there for 30 years

I still have every PlayStation console and lots of game discs, and they all work just fine, and it doesn’t take much effort🚀
In fact, most PS1-PS3 games are far superior to modern games in every way, save for graphics.
So no, “disc decay” isn’t even remotely an issue, and physical games are not “dated”. People still play vinyl records and CDs for music, and they buy enough to make artists release variants and chart to No.1.
Let’s not justify greed, mediocrity and corporate corruption and monopoly, and bootlicking and shilling for corporations as “evolution”

More game developers are backing Steam’s AI disclosure policy, saying players deserve to know when generative AI has been used in a game.
In interviews with GamesRadar, many indie developers said Valve’s requirement to disclose AI-generated content is the right move because it gives players transparency and helps them make informed decisions.
Erenshor creator Brian “Burgee” said, “Gamers have a right to know how their games are made, and a right to choose what they’re supporting.”
REPORT: Former Santa Monica Studio writer Alanah Pearce claims that Sony enforced exceptionally strict social media policies for PlayStation employees after announcing the end of PS5 disc production in January 2028🚀
✅Based on her conversations with current staff, these rules were implemented to prevent employees from discussing the decision publicly.
✅While the company clearly anticipated heavy public backlash, it has remained completely silent as the controversy continues to dominate social media.
Don’t give up
Keep up the pressure💪🏼
