Calling #AlbertaIndependence a “chimerical daydream” isn’t analysis. It’s condescension dressed as an argument.

Alberta is expected to supply the wealth, accept the lectures, and mistake obedience for belonging. Question that arrangement and suddenly you’re a fantasist.

If the case for Canada is so compelling, make it. Explain why Alberta’s future is better decided in Ottawa than by Albertans. Sneering from Toronto is no substitute for an answer.

You cannot keep telling people their grievances are imaginary and then act astonished when they want a country of their own.

That sneer is precisely how a daydream becomes a demand.
