The harassment of journalists who are accurately reporting on the elections in Azad Kashmir, and the ban imposed by the Government of Pakistan on the international news channel Al Jazeera, are highly condemnable.

The people of Kashmir have boycotted what they describe as the fraudulent elections being held in Azad Kashmir. Instead of casting their votes, they are protesting against the alleged oppression taking place there. According to the statement, in order to conceal this situation from the world, the government has shut down internet services in Azad Kashmir while also controlling the media.

It is claimed that all media outlets have been strictly instructed to broadcast only the election-related news officially provided by the government. Media representatives are allegedly being openly threatened, and journalists who report independently or accurately on the situation are allegedly being detained.

The statement further claims that Haider Kamal, a correspondent for the international news channel Al Jazeera @AJEnglish , reported on the boycott of the elections by Kashmiris, the low voter turnout, and the ongoing protests. It alleges that, in response to this reporting, the government has imposed a ban on #AlJazeera in Pakistan.

The statement describes this action as highly condemnable and characterizes it as an attempt to suppress press freedom. It calls for an end to these practices.

کشمیری عوام نے آزادکشمیر میں ہونے والے جعلی الیکشن کا بائیکاٹ کیا ہے اور وہ الیکشن میں ووٹ ڈالنے کے بجائے وہاں مظالم کےخلاف احتجاج کررہے ہیں۔ حکومت نے اس صورتحال  کو دنیا سے چھپانے کے لئے ایک طرف تو آزاد کشمیرمیں انٹرنیٹ کی سروس  بند کردی ہے اوردوسری جانب میڈیا کوبھی کنٹرول کیا جارہا ہے۔ تمام میڈیا کو سختی سے ہدایت کردی گئی ہے کہ وہ الیکشن کے حوالے سے صرف وہی خبر نشر کریں جوسرکاری سطح پر انہیں فراہم کی جائے ، میڈیا کے نمائندوں کوکھلی کھلی دھمکیاں دی جارہی ہیں، جو صحافی وہاں کی صحیح رپورٹنگ کرتا ہے اس کو اٹھالیا جاتاہے، انٹرنیشنل نیوز چینل الجزیرہ کے نمائندے حیدرکمال نے آزادکشمیر الیکشن کے حوالے سے صحیح رپورٹنگ کی اور اپنی رپورٹ میں کشمیریوں کی جانب سے الیکشن کے بائیکاٹ اور ووٹنگ کاٹرن آؤٹ بہت کم ہونے اورکشمیریوں کے احتجاج کا زکر کیا توحکومت کی جانب سے پاکستان میں الجزیرہ پر پابندی عائد کردی گئی ہے۔ یہ اقدام انتہائی قابل مذمت ہے اور آزادانہ صحافت کو قید کرنے کا عمل ہے۔  یہ سلسلہ بند کیا جائے۔

The people living in #Kashmir are standing up for their rights all over Azad Kashmir. This includes not just young people, but also older individuals, mothers, sisters, and children. They are simply asking for their basic rights, yet they are being shot at while trying to protest peacefully. Snipers have been sent to places like #Rawalakot, Mirpur, and other locations, where they are intentionally aiming at and shooting the demonstrators. So far, over one hundred innocent Kashmiris have lost their lives because of the gunfire from police, the Frontier Corps, and other armed forces.

The remains of the Kashmiris who have lost their lives are not being given back to their families. The hospitals are also managed by the security forces. There is little information about the injured being taken to the hospitals. Many people are unaccounted for.
In this serious situation, elections are taking place in Azad Kashmir.

The people of Kashmir are refusing to take part in these false elections which has left the voting sites empty and the election workers just talking amongst themselves. Still, the government is saying that people are eagerly taking part in the voting.
This is trickery and cheating.

The government has placed restrictions on the country's media. Reporters are being put in danger. Any journalist who shares the real story gets taken away.

When journalist Kamal Haider from Al-Jazeera- @AJEnglish reported honestly about the elections, Pakistan banned Al Jazeera. Internet access in Azad Kashmir has also been cut off. In this manner, the boundaries of cruelty have been exceeded.

The houses of Kashmiris living overseas who are sending significant money back to Pakistan have been taken over in Azad Kashmir and turned into military posts.

The PPP and the PML-N should be ashamed that they are seeking votes from the people in such circumstances.

They subjected the Kashmiris to oppression, deprived them of their rights, and even today they are concerned not about the Kashmiris but about power.

It is highly condemnable that the Kashmiris who have come out to demand their rights are today being called traitors and foreign agents, and they are being beaten and taught lessons in patriotism.

I believe that if you want to understand what it means to love your country, look at the people of Kashmir. They have faced hard times and struggles, yet they still show love for their nation.

I urge those in power to listen to what the Kashmiris are asking for right away, to end the unfair treatment they face, to stop pretending with elections, and to give the people of Kashmir their rightful freedoms.

I truly feel compassion and support for the Kashmiris who are suffering from injustice. Their sadness is also something I feel deeply.

I appeal to the people of Kashmir, especially the youth, that under no circumstances should they become disappointed in this struggle for the attainment of their rights.

No matter what oppression they face, they should not surrender, and until each and every one of their demands is accepted, they should continue their struggle. Remember that sacrifices have to be made in the struggle for the attainment of rights.

The efforts made in the fight for rights will definitely lead to positive outcomes, and thanks to your efforts, future generations will enjoy a respectful and free environment.

I ask everyone in Pakistan to stand with the people of Kashmir. If it is not possible for them to join protests for the suffering Kashmiris, they should at least turn off the TV for one hour on channels that spread misleading information about Kashmir, showing their support for the Kashmiris and mourning with the families of those who have lost their lives in Kashmir.
