Remarks by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev (@TokayevKZ) at the Fifth Meeting of the National Kurultai (Kazakh National Council):

“Any conflict can be overcome if there is genuine will and an appropriate level of professionalism.

I made the decision to join the Abraham Accords. The creation of such accords marks a diplomatic innovation, rooted in President Trump’s (@realDonaldTrump) profound understanding of historical context and contemporary political realities.

I am confident in the rationale for the decision to become a party to the #AbrahamAccords, which are intended to contribute to the establishment of lasting peace in the #MiddleEast.”

🇰🇿🇪🇺 President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with President of the European Council António Costa during his first official visit to Kazakhstan.

They reaffirmed the strong momentum of Kazakhstan–EU relations as they mark the upcoming 10th anniversary of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between #Kazakhstan and the #EU. Discussions focused on expanding cooperation in transport and logistics, digitalization, energy, critical minerals, agriculture, and other promising areas.

The EU remains Kazakhstan’s largest trade and investment partner. Last year, bilateral trade reached $50 bn, while total investment since 2005 has amounted to nearly $200 bn. Kazakhstan accounts for 80% of the EU’s trade with #CentralAsia.

President @TokayevKZ welcomed progress on #visa facilitation and highlighted the importance of the C5+EU platform. @EUCOPresident commended Kazakhstan’s role as a key partner for #Europe and expressed readiness to deepen cooperation.
