I am a student of price behaviour for many years. Here are some of my fundamental/core views/Philosophy. Every man has to develop their unique style, mine is essentially of swing trading/long-term investing. The markets are as old as Time & will be here forever. The question we must remind ourselves of is, will our capital?
THOUGHT 1
However difficult, dangerous & brutal one understands trading to be, it always proves to be even more than that! To a fellow traveller of this path, I would humbly suggest the following.
Discipline oneself with Stoic patience to only trade one’s best of the best, gold star ‘setups’ & combine them with an obsessive & assiduous focus on ‘risk management’.
Trading is not about predicting the future. It is partly about setups which have a higher probability of price behaviour at a certain point in the flow of price. How will one find these ‘setups’? Through gruelling devotion to watching & studying price behaviour over months/years. For me, they occur when price hits key EMAS/pivot points.
‘Risk management’ is cutting one’s trade IMMEDIATELY when one’s thesis is wrong. A tight stop loss close to the entry.
To minimise loss should be one’s obsession, not profits. The correct process will attend to them.
As to position size. Start extremely small. Earn the right to increase it over time. If every time we take a trade, our default view is it will be a loser [which actually it often is], that will help tame our greed.
Like an unfathomable Ocean, like mysterious Existence itself & dare I say like our Creator, the study of price movement is an endless & infinite journey. One has to put incalculable hrs. & effort into one's study. After all that, one still knows that one's knowledge is nothing in the face of the 'infinite' market. Only then, maybe She starts revealing her secrets. Every day it teaches us & teaches us humility. For me, it's not about the £ but a love of the study.
There are 3 pillars of study: Analysis, Risk Management & Psychology.
THOUGHT 2
Having been around the houses, got the T-shirt & studied many aspects of FA & TA over many years. Read literally hundreds of books, listened to literally thousands of YouTubers & listened to all the wisdom of historic trading 'masters'.In the end, I came to the realisation that less is more. Now I don't do any of that[except listen to traders from history]. This is what I do & know that it works for me:
For me to take the highest probability setups requires the confluence of many factors. Since these align rarely, I often have to wait weeks. Here are the factors:
1/market structure,
2/multiple time frame analysis,
3/use of only 3-4 indicators [could be any ones, but the key is spending swathes of time to master them].
THOUGHT 3
Here are some essentials on the learning path:
1/the 24/7 study of price even when not in positions.
2/If after taking the position & it has a poor pump or it goes lower [ie where my thesis is wrong], cut the position. Maybe the entry is on the leg down.
3/Every slap one gets, one must forensically understand what was done wrong. Every slap provides new knowledge/wisdom, which must be incorporated into the forward journey. Thus, we are constantly evolving. I have been getting slaps for years & continue to get them.
4/Even when not seeking to enter a trade or position, one should be studying the price action 24/7/365 & learning how it behaves.
CURRENT MARKET VIEW UPDATE
At the moment I 100% stand by the lower down thesis. Since we now have 40 hr. window waiting for it, we should be relaxed until then. I will keep updating. Do not be alarmed even if it goes up to 280 before- this is all part of the hunt.
CURRENT MARKET VIEW UPDATE At the moment, I 100% stand by the lower down thesis. As to timing, it could be in the early hours of Monday, or it could go up to as late as Tuesday evening. Thus, the challenge is to deal with the sleep hours. I am using the technique of using TradingView alarms as a cage. Eg. if the price is at 270, set alarms at 265 & 270, thus waking at critical times, 2/ trying to build up sleep when the move is not happening. This is how 'hunting' has to be done. I will keep updating to assist. At the moment, I don't see anything going on till midnight[London time].
CURRENT MARKET VIEW
OTHERS is currently at $270 Bn & 100% it has lower to go. It is behaving exactly as expected. It should be turning down pretty soon. Very high probability that it will at least retest the $260 zone. The current best estimate of the turning point is $250-$255. Always remember it's the risk management after entry which is most important, ie, to cut it if it looks to be wrong & then be prepared to re-enter a slight leg down. This really is a game of supreme PAYtience. Sitting around for hours, going into days, if need be. But when the moment comes, a trader must act decisively, immediately & with force. I sit around waiting for that exact moment. I will post exactly when I jump in 🌈

CURRENT MARKET VIEW
OTHERS is currently at $271 Bn & 100% it has lower to go. It is following exactly the path outlined in numerous posts before this one, from weeks ago. 80%+ the turning point will be hit in the next 24 hrs. 95% chance that it will be hit within the next 36 hrs. High probability it will reach the $258 zone, low-end guesstimate being $250 zone. I will post exactly when I jump in. Always remember it's the risk management after entry which is most important, ie, to cut it if it looks to be wrong & then be prepared to re-enter a slight leg down 🌈
The moment of time we are hunting/attempting to snipe, the turning point, the local bottom-we won't hit it today. Maybe Friday, maybe Saturday. I will keep posting for all trying to add money in.
CURRENT MARKET VIEW
OTHERS is currently at $291 Bn & 100% it has lower to go. It is following exactly the path outlined in the posts before this one-$274 was hit. Its current behaviour is just predictable FOMO green to lure & deceive players & in the next few hours it will go to its true destination imo a minimum of $275 but more likely $260-$268. The time window for this to occur has been extended slightly & likely to be done by Thursday end/early Friday. If wrong, I will be the first to admit it, as a good trader is fully accountable for his calls. & then is also flexible enough to implement any pre-formed backup plan [weasling in]. However, in this case, I do not think I will be wrong 🌈
CURRENT MARKET VIEW
I am getting ready to enter. Price has been flowing as anticipated. It could be as early as 2-3 hrs from now or until 12:30 tomorrow. I am in favour of this evening. I will post here exactly when I jump in. Be aware when I make a jump & I don't like it, I will cut & try a little lower soon after. This is my risk management: I believe in smaller losses earlier than bigger losses later. I will post that cutting too.
CURRENT MARKET VIEW
OTHERS is currently at $288 Bn & 100% it has lower to go. It is following exactly the path outlined in the post before this one. $280 zone being reached is highly likely, $268 zone is a good possibility & at the lowest $250 [least likely]. As to the time of the turning point, somewhere between Wednesday 18:00 & Thursday 13:00 is my current best window. We have Wednesday 18:30 FOMC & Thursday 12:30 CPI. I will post when I am about to jump in. It is a necessary point to add money into the market, as its ensuing movement up will be far more significant than the last local turning point 🌈
CURRENT MARKET VIEW
OTHERS is currently at $291 Bn & 100% it has lower to go. It is following exactly the path outlined in the post before this one. $280 zone is assured & then how much further is to be seen. As to the time of the next turning point, maybe it aligns with the Wednesday evening FOMC. Naturally, one must be cautious in case it happens before. I will post when I am about to jump in. It is a necessary point to add money into the market, as its ensuing movement up will be far more significant than the last local turning point.
CURRENT MARKET VIEW
OTHERS is currently at $300 Bn & it 100% has lower to go. Before it does, it may crawl its way back to $305, maybe a little more & then it will correct. Where to, I think $280 minimum, maybe 270,260 at lowest 250ish. 260-270 is more likely than 250. Reaching a bottom anywhere from early Monday to Wednesday evening [FOMC] day. Once it bottoms, the upward move will definitely be much more significant than this meagre move, which we just traded up.
The last post below this post nailed the entry/trade to the minute. At 05:29 was the turning point. Check the OTHERS on the minute candle chart for yourselves, please.
CURRENT MARKET VIEW
The dip reached $282 Bn
Currently, OTHERS is at $292 Bn. I see the optimal entry moment for long & adding $ into the market probably as yet still to come. A revisit to around $280 most probable, with a remote chance of the lowest being $265 Bn.
CURRENT MARKET VIEW
That's the dip nearly done for the moment imo.
Currently, OTHERS is at $286 Bn. I don't see it going lower than $280 Bn at the moment, so looking for long & adding $ into the market probably this evening.
