@DougsDollars Feel good about yourself there bud? Being a little online bully to a woman who's dealt with more crap in her young life than you can possibly imagine? Make ya feel real big? You're the worst kind.
I started saying this last year: Fans are enabling mediocrity when we stop demanding more. And honestly, I thought I was going to be proved wrong this year. I believed the new coaching staff could be the answer. I was excited about the moves Donati and Beamer were making. I came into this season cautious, but realistic. I wanted to believe this program was finally turning a corner. But what I saw tonight was terribly disappointing.
It hurt. Like, physically hurt my heart to watch that game. And I’m going to say something I never thought I would say:
I don’t think Sellers is the guy anymore. I admire LaNorris. I really do. I have rooted for him from day 1. But admiration and evaluation are two different things.
And I don’t think Beamer is the guy anymore either. That one hurts even more.
Because I absolutely love Shane Beamer.
I love what he has meant to South Carolina. I love his passion. I love how much he clearly cares about this university and these fans. But at some point, you have to separate the person from the program.
I think it’s time to move on. Not because I hate Beamer. Not because I don’t appreciate what he’s done. Not because I want to tear everything down.
Because I want South Carolina football to be better. And I don’t think what we’re watching right now is good enough.
Here’s the part that will probably make people laugh: I still think we’re going to beat Alabama next week. Because THAT is Carolina football.
We’ll look dead in the water, make absolutely no sense, and then somehow walk into Tuscaloosa and ruin somebody’s Saturday. That’s the beautiful, maddening, heartbreaking thing about being a Gamecock. But one upset doesn’t change the bigger conversation.
South Carolina has to stop being satisfied with being ALMOST there. I love this program too much to demand anything less. I said it last year, and I’ll say it again: We deserve better.
Forever to thee.
Raleigh is a prime example of how to build a hockey culture.
The Carolina Hurricanes have turned it into one of the best hockey towns in the NHL, despite lacking a cold climate/deep history. This was outside Lenovo Center after the Game 2 ECF win.
Hockey belongs in the south.

Congratulations to @dawnstaley and the @GamecockWBB team on an outstanding game plan executed to perfection! It’s a real shame that #Geno took the low road! We have all had to lose with class! Geno of the @UConnWBB needs to start with an apology!!! #GenoApologize
