The early birds of @AltonCameraClub were up with the lark last weekend to catch the deer rut at Bushy Park. We didn't see rutting but witnessed a beautiful sunrise and saw these wonderful creatures in the morning sunlight.

2/2 Highly Commended was Andrew Sorrell for 'Where are the Flowerpot Men?', @superflygal747 for 'First Flight' and Ian Larkin for 'Contemplation'.
The popularity of this competition ensures that mobile phone competitions will become a regular feature in our programme.
1/2 @AltonCameraClub held the first Mobile Phone Photography Competition last Weds. The competition proved popular with 34 entries. Judge Chris Dixon, awarded 1st to Ian Bailey for 'Goodwood Fairground', 2nd @wendybdavies for 'Brandenburg Gate, 3rd to Ian Larkin for 'Spinnaker'.
4/4. Next week sees us at Aldershot, Farnham and Fleet Camera Club for an evening of Light Painting led by artist Michelle Essenson.

3/4. Geoff placed "Hanging on the Telephone" by Renee Smith in first place, second place was Tony Cole with his charming image "Splish, Splash", whilst in third place was Wendy Davies with "Don't Rain on My Parade".
2/4.Our judge for the evening,Geoff Young,also got stuck in and tried to guess the titles (15 out of 64,said it was a toughie!).32 images were entered from differing genres - portrait,street photography, wildlife and landscape to name a few. 3 images gained maximum marks of '10'.
1/4. Alton Camera Club held their first competition of the season last Wednesday evening. The annual 'Song Title' competition is always a toughie, with members trying to guess the song, and artist, before the title is revealed in the judging round. .

Next Wednesday, 4th October, sees our first competition of the new season, 'Song Titles'. This is always a fun competition with members trying the guess the song title for each image
1/3 Last Weds @altoncameraclub welcomed an inspiring & enthusiastic speaker, Jet Lendon from @jetblacksquares. Jet showedtechniques to get the very best from our mobile phone cameras and create awesome images. We came away fired up with enthusiasm for mobile phone photography
An intrepid bank of six headed out early to @RHSWisley yesterday for the first field trip of the season. Coffee, cake and conversation flowed, we also took photos.
Weds 20th Sept sees award-winning photographer Keven Sandall give a talk on ‘A Judge’s Perspective’ with tips on how to take better pictures, impress judges and improve your marks!

4.@wendybdavies was awarded the PDI Monochrome League Trophy with a score of 37.5. She gained 10's for 'Alton Lineout Ball' and 'Cigarette Break'. Two other high scoring images, 'Tropical Storm in Old Havana' and 'Thirsty Work on the Watercress Line', ensured Wendy's top spot.
3. Ian Bailey won our PDI Colour League Trophy with a score of 38.5 out of a possible 40 marks. A selection of his best 'Totem', 'Circles of the Mind', 'Sea Witch' and 'Night Shift'.
1/3. The final round of our 2022-23 PDI League competition saw 3 photographers awarded '10's' by judge Paul Graber. 'In My Dreams' by Olwen Parton, 'Longhorn Beetle Rutpela Maculata' by Barry Clark and 'You Might Want to Look Behind You' by Tony Coles all caught the judge's eye.
Finally, Ian Bailey was also Highly Commended for his image 'Overgrown Landrover'.
