@Ndawanaaa One thing I respect about Zambians is how they mind their own business. Zambians literally have no interest in affairs outside zambia, they are not obsessed with Americans, South Africans or even Nigerians, its like they just don't care.

@BiGBENNGTR@mrhumbleheart lol I wonโt argue you cause even you donโt believe our whole Health sector is funded by the US. Ask yourself why Zambia is being offered the highest amount amongst all African countries by the US.
@BiGBENNGTR@mrhumbleheart Which Zambia canโt afford? Lol I donโt think youโre talking about the one that has free healthcare for all citizens and even has enough to help out neighbors like Zimbabwe and Botswana

Young man,While criticism of any leader is part of public discourse, it is important to assess President Kenneth Kaundaโs tenure with historical context and factual balance.... Lemme Educate you
President Kaunda inherited Northern Rhodesia and Barotseland in 1964 as a newly independent state with significant structural challenges. The economy was heavily dependent on copper, with limited industrial diversification, minimal local ownership, and stark inequalities in education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
Under his leadership, key nation-building measures were implemented:
1. Education and health: Thousands of schools and clinics were built, and free primary education was introduced. Adult literacy campaigns significantly reduced illiteracy rates.
2.Infrastructure: Major projects such as the TAZARA Railway, Kafue Gorge Hydroelectric Plant, and national road networks were undertaken to reduce dependence on routes through Southern Rhodesia and apartheid South Africa.
3. Agriculture: The government promoted agricultural cooperatives, established marketing boards, and subsidized inputs to encourage food security. While challenges in implementation existed, the intent was to empower small-scale farmers and reduce reliance on imports.
4. National unity: In a region marked by conflict, President Kaunda maintained Zambiaโs stability and peace, hosting liberation movements and advocating for majority rule across Southern Africa.
The economic difficulties of the 1970s and 1980s were influenced by external shocks, including the collapse of global copper prices, the oil crisis, and the economic cost of supporting regional liberation struggles. These factors affected many commodity-dependent nations, not Zambia alone.
Like all leaders, President Kaundaโs policies had mixed outcomes. However, to characterize his administration solely as destructive overlooks the foundational institutions, national identity, and stability he helped establish during Zambiaโs formative years.
