This is flawed and frankly dangerously shortsighted thinking.
It’s not an issue of agreeing or disagreeing. We aren’t talking about different approaches to policy or platform. It’s not about ‘staying in a silo’… this is about giving a platform to someone who used his reach to incite a violent attack on our Capitol in an effort to subvert the will of the people & install himself as a dictator.
Donald trump knows that his words can incite violence. He’s tested it and it’s worked.
He’s not going to stop.
Let me ask @andersoncooper this - what if Nick Fuentes were the “frontrunner” for the nomination?
What if it was David Duke? And what if they had already proven that they would use platforms to both legitimize and encourage violence against minorities?
Would you say that those of us who didn’t think those people should be given a platform were choosing to stay in “silos” because we didn’t agree with them?
Or would you agree that it would be wrong to help them amplify their hate? Wrong and dangerous?
How is trump any different?
