Donald Trump did not attack Canada.

He's the guy who bough a new house on the street. We were the bad neighbour using his WiFi for free, parking on his driveway and never mowing our side of the fence.

He's the new owner of the house next door that didn't put up with our shit, so he changed the password, had us park our car elsewhere and made us paint the fence.

Our free ride came to an end, but rather that man-up, we acted like babies.

Ottawa keeps waving total GDP like it is a paycheque. The country got bigger. That is population. Per-person output spent years going the other way while they called it growth. You did not get richer. The denominator did.

That is managed decline with a press secretary. Fill the rooms, inflate the headline, then tell the kid in the basement to be grateful the national number went up.
