I understand Vessel #Kathrin, carrying weapons destined to Israel, has either arrived or is due to arrive very soon in #Malta. I implore the #Malta government, who has regularly taken a principled stand on Palestine, to act and stop the vessel from advancing.

At the time Israel is committing acts of #genocide against the Palestinians (risk recognised by the #ICJ in January 2024), States are under an obligation “to respect and to ensure respect” for the Genocide Convention “in all circumstances”. This includes not to transfer arms to parties to an armed conflict. Imposing an #ArmsEmbargo on Israel, at the time it continues to slaughter civilians in the region, is one of such legal obligations as also recalled by the #HumanRightsCouncil this year.

We must preserve the primacy of international law and human rights, which will be sorely missed once they are no longer there for us.

Because of their history, one might have thought Germans & Italians would be at the forefront of the opposition to the Netanyahu-driven assault on Gaza, which is now metastasising across the region.

Our collective obliviousness to what led, 100 years ago, to the Third Reich's expansionism and the genocide of people not in conformity with the "pure race" is asinine. And it is leading to the commission of yet another genocide, yet another regional war and potentially yet another global one.

Shame on all those who are making it happen.

States should not forget, among others, the ICJ's warning in Nicaragua v Germany, last April. May their responsibilities be investigated, including in the respective domestic courts.

The supreme judicial organ of the UN has confirmed what the Palestinians, some liberated Israelis, serious legal sholarship & the human rights community worldwide have steadily denounced:

Israel's 57yo occupation is UNLAWFUL, nothing concerning it should be considered as legal by member states & UN agencies alike and Israel must dismantle it at once, together with its illegal settlement enterprise, the apartheid that has sustained it and also offer reparations to the Palestinians.

And now, let's apply intl law, starting with stopping the #genocide the unlawful occupier is committing, imposing sanctions on it & ensuring immediate #protection of the Palestinians under its rule.

**رمضان كريم.. قلوبنا وعقولنا في فلسطين والسودان ومع المواطن الغلبان**

- كان نفسنا نقول للمصريين كل عام وأنتم في بهجة وفرحة مع قدوم الشهر الكريم في ظروف أفضل، وكنا بنتمنى إن دخول رمضان يجي والمصريين في حال أفضل على جميع المستويات، لكننا متابعين الوضع وشايفين التدهور الحاصل لأحوال الناس المعيشية، ويعز علينا نشوف ونسمع عن مواطنين مصريين مش قادرين يوفروا كل احتياجات أسرهم في موسم رمضان.

- رمضان السنة دي جاي وملايين من المصريين في قلب أزمة اقتصادية طاحنة اتسببت فيها سياسات خاطئة حتى الآن لم يتم الاعتراف بالمسئولية عنها.

- إحنا موجودين وسط المصريين وقادرين نشوف الشعور بالحزن مرسوم على وجوههم، وقادرين نشوف الاستغراق في التفكير في سؤال إزاي هايقضوا الشهر دا، في ظل الغلاء وغياب سلع أساسية بتعتبر العمود الفقري للموسم الرمضاني.

- على مدار شهور السنة الناس تخلت عن جزء كبير من هوامش الرفاهية البسيطة، وكان عندهم أمل في تحسن الأحوال مع قدوم رمضان والتمتع برفاهية الاستمرار في العادات الغذائية الرمضانية زي إعداد صنف من الحلويات، لكن لسة الأوضاع زي ما هي، وكل أخبار الصفقات الأخيرة ما نزلتش أسعار السلع الأساسية.

- وحزم الحماية الاجتماعية اللي اتقدمت للموظفين وأصحاب المعاشات غير كافية، دا غير إنه عدد موظفي الدولة كلهم بقوا نسبة قليلة جداً من الشعب، ولسة عندنا القطاع الخاص بيدي رواتب هزيلة لا تكفي للحد الأدنى من الاحتياجات الأساسية في ظل غياب رقابة الدولة.

لسه ناس مكانهم فاضي

- رمضان داخل علينا والسجون مليانة بالشباب اللي اعتُقلوا لمجرد إبداء رأي في بلدهم وفي سياسات حكم بلدهم إلى دخلتها في نفق ديون، بدون ما يرتكبوا خطأ واحد غير أنهم تمنوا بلد أكثر عدالة وأقل قهراً وفيه شيء من الرشد السياسي واحترام القانون.

- في رمضان هايبقى مكانهم فاضي على موائد أسرهم في كل فطار، أهلهم اللي بيتبهدلوا في زياراتهم في السجون، إحنا مش ناسيينكم، وهنفضل نطالب بحقكم في الإفراج الفوري وحق جميع المصريين في الحرية.

- وهنفضل متمسكين بمطلب فتح المجال السياسي وحق كل المصريين في التعبير عن رأيهم بحرية بدون عقاب ولا ترهيب ولا زوار فجر ومكاتب تحقيقات وتدوير قضايا وكعب داير على السجون والأقسام.

- وهنفضل نساهم، ما استطعنا، في إعادة بناء المجال السياسي، لأنه هو الضمانة وحيدة لاستعادة الناس لحقها المسلوب في إدارة حياتها والمشاركة في القرارات اللي بتهمهم وتأثر عليهم.

- هانفضل حريصين على زرع الشعور الإنساني بالتضامن بينا كمصريين، ونطرح أسئلة ونحاسب الحكومة ولو بالكلمة، ونبدد على قد ما نقدر الخمول السياسي.

غـ+ـزة والسـ*ـودان في البال

- رمضان جاي علينا وإحنا شايفين الإبـ+ـادة الجـ=ـماعية في غـ#ـزة على إيد جـ*ـيش الاحـ+ـتلال، ولسه العالم العربي واقف مكتوف الأيدي قدام حـ+ـرب التجـ(ـويع ضد سكان القطـ*ـاع، بعد ما تم تعطيل كل الأدوات السيـ*ـاسية والدبلو/ماسية العر/بية، وبقينا واقفين في حالة المتفرج العاجز حتى عن إدخال مسـ*ـاعدات غذائية وطبية لأهلنا في غـ#ـزة.

- رمضان على الأبواب وأهلنا في السـ+ـودان بيعانوا من الآثار الوحشـ#ـية للحـ=ـرب الأهليـ*ـة اللي خلت البلد على شفا المجـ*ـاعة، بعد ما بقى فيه 18 مليون بيعانوا من الجو/ع فعليا، و25 مليون سو/داني محتاجين لمسـ+ـاعدات إنسـ±ـانية عاجلة.

- دا غير الأوبئة اللي رجعت تنتشر بقـ*ـوة في أماكن الصـ+ـراع بين الجيـ#ـش وقو/ات الد/عم السر/يع زي الكوليرا والحصبة والملاريا.

- قلوبنا مع أخواتنا في السـ*ـودان، وبنجدد مطالبتنا لحكومتنا بالقيام بدورها الطبيعي في الضغط لوقف النـ*ـزاع، والمساهمة في إنهاء الأزمـ*ـة اللي شردت 9 مليون سو/داني في بلدهم وفي الدول المجاورة ومنها مصر، دا دورنا وما نقدرش نتقاعس عنه حتى لو كنا في أضعف أحوالنا.
