@Clubs696368@TubularTigerbee Conservative politicians have also introduced legislation against gay marriage yet it doesn't mean they all oppose it, in fact a lot support it. It is a strawman to assume the position of a person based solely on a group they belong to when the group is not homogeneous.
@Clubs696368@TubularTigerbee So your made up strawman about a person is enough to silence them? You all just want to enjoy your echo chambers and police who can and who can't be a furry.
@cendre_falke@A_Deer2112 In the 1928 parliamentary election their party had less than 3% of votes, the party was prosecuted in 1923 for the coup but later treated with leniency for using said violence. So thinking they were popular before prosecution it's something groundless.
@cendre_falke@A_Deer2112 Excuse me? The Nazis became popular only after the party was prosecuted, and for some reason Weimar pardoned them after trying a coup but imprisoned them for speech, The Weimar republic did exactly the opposite of what it should have, pardoning violence and outlawing speech.
@cendre_falke@A_Deer2112 It literally says that you are meant to keep them in check through rational debate, not violently suppressing people for their speech. And again, nowhere it says "tolerating the intolerant makes you also intolerant" neutrality is not picking their side.

This is the paradox of tolerance as it as written, it explicitly claims "I do not imply, for instance, that we should always suppress the utterance of intolerant philosophies". Nowhere it claims "tolerating the intolerant makes you intolerant too".
@cendre_falke@A_Deer2112 The paradox of tolerance explicitly makes allusion to violent responses, not just problematic speech, the idea that you can police any kind of speech just because you find it intolerant undermines the whole point of Karl Popper's thought.
@cendre_falke@A_Deer2112 Being a "minority" is always a term relative to your total share of X group, not of the global and abstract share. Conservatism isn't per say a protected class, but for politics there's something called tolerance of different opinions, which is cornerstone for Democratic thought.
@cendre_falke@A_Deer2112 First: Within the fandom yes they are, the global totality doesn't change the particular relationship within a group.
Second: Most conservatives are religious, which is indeed a protected class, anyways don't conflate law with morals; something being legal doesn't make it good.
@BigBadFloof@LysanderTheLion The irony of crying oppression while actively wanting to go after political minorities within an heterogeneous fandom he feels so entitled to police.

@AngyPaws@EclipseStalvok "I urge you to study history" says the person who proposes an outdated, non falsifiable, hiper-ideologized and reductionist framework of history. Suffice to say that the person who coined it needed constant ad hoc explanations like when trying to explain the Japanese economy.
@Friendly_Latex The irony of opposing those wanting to police sexual conduct within the fandom while actively policing which opinions should be allowed within an heterogeneous fandom of which you are just a member without any authority over it.
