It is blatantly clear people don't care nor care to understand mental disabilities and mental disorders. It sounds like when people call a person with depression lazy.
Nobody is born choosing to have a disability nor no one likes to have a mental disorder. We should show empathy and make accommodations to those who need it. Not bashed them and mistreat them for something they can't control. Same for kids on schools that have disabilities or disorders.
You think they are annoying and don't belong in the work place? Then voice it out to your government so they can give a decent amount of money that truly allows them sustainability. Oh you don't want your taxes to pay for them? Then let them work and accommodate them 😭 what you people just want them to dissappear?
A lot of illnesses, disabilities and disorders have no cure, the least people can do for them is being kind.
The person from the post also works in a school, they said they had the episode with no students present but even so, isn't one of the greatest things you can teach someone (let alone a child) is to be kind? How can you blame a person who already has it rough?
We are all human. Even if you don't have a mental illness or anything, there will be a time, where maybe you are sick, or stress, maybe the death of a close friend or family member happened, maybe a very bad break up, who knows, but in that time, even when the world keeps on spinning, I hope you encounter kindness and that others and you yourself can allow you to breakdown and get yourself together without feeling guilty.
I had an autistic meltdown at work last week where I ended up laying on the floor and crying (embarrassing I know).
I’ve been given a disciplinary and put on a three month probation… for causing people distress.
My distress was punished for causing distress.
I understand that for some people it might be hard to not fall into lateness. I myself sometimes lose perception of time and have to hurry to make it in time. Still, please be aware that time is one of the things that never comes back, and you can't expect people to not be upset about it. Of course, nobody should shame you but please do communicate and be truthful about it.
I despise lateness but two of my best friends that I adore with all my heart are always late. The reason why our friendship has lasted for so long is because we are always honest with each other.
As soon as I saw the pattern of them always being late I told them about my feelings. How if we were just going to hangout I didn't mind if they were late but I wish they would tell me so I can stay home a little longer instead of awkwardly waiting somewhere. I also told them to please be honest, they used to tell me "I'll be there in 5" and still no trace of them, I would send them a message and then they wouldn't reply until 20 minutes had passed when they finally had arrived.
I told them how that was unacceptable not only because I felt lied to, and like I had to stay put until further notice, but also because I worry about them, if they suddenly stop replying after they told me they would be here in 5 minutes, I can only worry. So I told them to please not lie to me, that it's fine if they just woke up or if they are barely getting ready but at least that way I can stay home or walk around and even do errands or something while I wait.
Of course everyone is different and not everyone would be so forgiven or would tolerate something like this, that is just part of life. However, I feel as long as you communicate and are truthful about it many people who care about you will try to accommodate without making a fuzz.
I'm so tired of lateness being viewed as a moral failing. I've been shamed for it my whole life because it's framed as "disrespect" (and no, it hasn't helped me be more punctual) and if I lost out on a major life opportunity because of it I don't think I could have ever recovered

@RIRIPI_m It's so cute, I can clearly see how much effort you put on this drawing, from the way the thigh band gives that squeeze feeling to the composition of the whole piece itself. It truly is perfect, you did a great job Riri-chan, I wouldn't change a thing!
