A patient bit my finger today while I was helping feed him, dealt with two argumentative wives of patients, and didn’t leave work until 7 because of paperwork. Just a day in the life of an SLP
I work in healthcare and we just changed our policy to not have to wear masks. Mind=blown
I get to do speech therapy with people being able to see my mouth! Game changer
COVID is mentally and physically draining.
For those of you who don’t work in healthcare, it’s not over. We are still fighting. We are still working. We are still seeing the repercussions of COVID and still seeing it’s new spread. Please, do what you can to stop the spread.
Don’t mind me, a speech pathologist, trying to do speech therapy with elderly patients who can’t hear while I have no voice and bronchitis
Happy Friday
Quote of the day from one of my patients who obviously so appreciates me: “I don’t know who would go to college and grad school to do something as stupid as what you do”
Society/corporate companies: “Healthcare workers are heroes!!”
Also society/corporate companies:
“Oh, you got COVID doing the work we asked you to do? Sorry, go home unpaid…”
