My latest on #Alzheimers for @healthcentral. @Eisaineuro 's recently approved antiamyloid antibody #Leqembi chews up amyloid... but does it help in real life? And at what cost? https://t.co/WfW9eQgRXt
@adpdnet Im here in Gothenburg representing #FDAnews at #ADPD2023. The past 2 years have been the most exciting time in the nearly 20 that I've been covering AD.... so great to be here at the center of neuro news!
@alsadvocacy thats what is plaguing Leqembi for AD right now. Accelerated Approval complicates payment decisions a lot. Eisai is hoping to convert to full app. with the CLARITY data, but unless that happens, reimbursement is only under Coverage w/Evidence Development
@alsadvocacy “This was a difficult decision for me,” said committee Chair Thomas Montine, chair of the Department of Pathology at Stanford University, Calif. “I do think it meets the Accelerated Approval standards, but not the traditional approval."
@alsadvocacy However, they unanimously agreed that neurofilament light chain (NfL), a marker of neurodegeneration, is a biomarker reasonably likely to predict clinical benefit in patients with SOD1-ALS — a move that would support an Accelerated Approval and be an FDA first.
@alsadvocacy yep. I covered that meeting. They unanimously agreed that neurofilament light would support an Accelerated Approval as a biomarker "reasonably likely to predict clinical benefit." That is the path forward
@AnavexLifeSci Impressive CTAD data! I sent you an email, but what was the distribution of e4 carriers among the three treatment arms? That wasn't included in the presentation. Thanks
@oldelpaso@hannahlace I havent gotten refried beans for a while so I picked up a can of OEP and oh dear lord. I had forgotten about the recipe change. They are truly terrible. The consistency is very strange, the flavor is awful, the water in the car is sloppy and gloppy. Anything else? Ick.
@Beth_LNU @kylegriffin1 I can't stand her myself, but I looked at both videos several times and to me it looked like they were walking close together and she accidentally stepped on her foot, perhaps the back of her shoe.
