This French Bulldog - with no discernible nostrils and an almost concave face - won not just Best of Breed at Crufts today but also the Utility Group.
A terrible day for the breed. Am gutted.
Today is International Puzzle Day, when we celebrate all the benefits puzzles can bring.

Oh, and a plug for my book Mind Games to boot. Yay!
Some really sound advice today on @theJeremyVine from @DrSarahJarvis about reducing dementia risk and the role of working out the grey matter in this. Oh, and a plug on R2 for my new book Mind Games (which conveniently covers both of these topics).

We're living longer than ever, which is good news - but the risk of dementia increases with age.
You can't always avoid it, but there's lots you can do to reduce your risk. I'm discussing now on @theJeremyVine@BBCRadio2

Did you see Paul, who has dementia, and his wife Penny appear on @BBCTheOneShow alongside @VickyPattison and @FiCarragher? They talked about the importance of early dementia diagnosis and the hope that research is bringing.
Watch back at https://t.co/exa2XuI2Kq.
Yes, 'stimulation' if you like; we tend to call it keeping active - physically, mentally, socially. But your point is well made that people vary in how much support they might need to achieve this, and hence how risk overlays broader social determinants of agency and resilience.
Thanks, Tony. In an appendix in the book I put cognitive stimulation as a preventative measure into that vital wider context. Yes to safer drinking et al; puzzles alone are not the answer!
Really pleased today to be alongside Emma Ruscoe talking about her husband Simon's young-onset dementia on @PackedLunchC4 . Also about my new book Mind Games with @alzheimerssoc out now 12 October 2023
We’re very grateful to Alastair Stewart for speaking so candidly today about his symptoms and subsequent dementia diagnosis, encouraging anyone worried about themselves or someone else to seek advice.
Thank you @AlStewartOBE, our thoughts are with you and your family 🩵

Just been on @TimesRadio talking about a new @alzheimerssoc survey, which highlights the staggering price unpaid carers pay to provide the bulk of vital care to loved ones. Family and friends are the backbone of support for people living with dementia.
So excited to be pre-announcing my first book with @centurybooksuk It's certainly given my grey matter a good workout getting to this stage, and I'm sure it will do the same for anyone doing the puzzles. Link to pre-order below.
