If the UAE is governed by law, security, and clear regulations, then why have these two innocent Pakistanis remained in UAE custody for the last 610 days? There is no case against them in court, no access for their families or lawyers, and no formal charges have been brought against them. They were detained because of their support for Imran Khan, despite carrying out no political activity or campaign on UAE soil.

After nearly two years in custody, they have still not been presented before any UAE court or formally charged. If the rule of law applies equally to everyone, then where is due process, transparency, and access to legal representation?

UAE should immediately release Salman Raza and Junaid Jahangir. They are being held illegally, without any charges, in blatant violation of basic legal rights and human dignity. Their detention is not based on law it is being carried out as a favor to the Pakistani military establishment. This is an abuse of power and a disgrace to the rule of law. No sovereign legal system should be used to settle or serve the interests of another country’s military.

Junaid Jahangir has been denied his eyesight glasses for nearly a year. This is cruel and inhumane act, his vision has deteriorated as a direct result of this mistreatment. This is unlawful detention and abuse. The UAE authorities must end this immediately and release both young men without any further delay.

گزشتہ دنوں ہونے والے میڈیکل ٹیسٹ کے مطابق اعجاز چوہدری صاحب کے گردوں کی بیماری تیسرے مرحلے (Stage 3) تک پہنچ چکی ہے۔ رپورٹس کے مطابق اعجاز چوہدری کے گردے صرف تقریباً 20 فیصد کام کر رہے ہیں، وزن تیزی سے کم ہو رہا ہے اور صحت مسلسل بگڑ رہی ہے۔

طبی ماہرین کا واضح کہنا ہے کہ اس نوعیت کے مرض کا علاج جیل کی چار دیواری میں ممکن نہیں۔ یہ محض ایک سیاسی قیدی کا معاملہ نہیں بلکہ ایک انسان کی زندگی کا سوال ہے۔ جب مرض اس نہج پر پہنچ جائے تو تاخیری حربے فسطائیت کی بدترین شکل بن جاتے ہیں۔

جمہوریت میں اختلاف رائے کو دشمنی میں نہیں بدلنا چاہیے۔ کسی بھی قیدی کو، خواہ اس پر الزامات کچھ بھی ہوں، بنیادی حقوق سے محروم کرنا بین الاقوامی قوانین اور اسلامی اقدار کے منافی ہے۔
