This is total madness. If Agile Consulting was engaged to assess structural damage from @ThwakeWater blasting with now questions about its structural engineering expertise, someone must be held accountable. The @MOWSI_KE owes affected residents clear answers. Who approved it?
THWAKE DAM: Who exactly is Agile Consulting?? Its listed expertise is management consulting—not structural engineering. Who owns it, what qualified engineers did the assessment, what was the mandate, and how much was paid? We deserve answers. @MOWSI_KE@ThwakeWater@AfDB_Group
PS @JKorir_K accompanied by @EngSaoalima convened a HIGH-LEVEL engagement with the senior leadership of China Gezhouba Group Company to discuss implementation of @ThwakeWater. Engagement reviewed project's progress, challenges, and acceleration
@MOWSI_KE@AfDB_Group
Thwake Dam:“The independent engineer can’t repeat the assessment to capture missed cracks”
Also @ThwakeWater: “Choose repairs & the contractor will reassess the whole compound, fix every crack.. & even bring down the cattle shed & rebuild it.” 😂😂

The public has seen the outcome. The next thread will examine the people behind the process by naming them. Accountability begins where silence ends. Bwana Godffrey Olali fikishaa huu ujumbe.. @ThwakeWater@MOWSI_KE@AfDB_Group @mungaa_eric #ThwakeDam
This is not a campaign against the Thwake Dam.
The community supports development. It is a demand that development be accompanied by accountability, transparency and respect for the people who have sacrificed the most. @ThwakeWater@MOWSI_KE@AfDB_Group@JKorir_K@Abdillahii
Residents are asking why so many decisions affecting them are coordinated through a few compromised individuals instead of an open, transparent process involving all relevant govt stakeholders.
If the process was fair, why is confidence in it so low? @AfDB_Group@MOWSI_KE
If millions were allocated for CSR, there should be no difficulty publishing: CSR implementation plan; project budgets; procurement records; completion reports; handover certificates; & audit reports. Transparency removes doubt. Silence fuels it @AfDB_Group@MOWSI_KE@ThwakeWater
Then comes CSR.
Residents have simple questions:
Where did the CSR money go?
Which projects were budgeted?
Which projects were actually completed?
Were they delivered to the required standard?
Was there value for money? @AfDB_Group@mugaa_eric The community deserves answers.
The big question remains; why do residents say the Liaison Office coordinated a compensation exercise that lacked transparency, marred by favouritism, compromised chiefs & failed to communicate the information homeowners needed before signing agreements? @AfDB_Group@mugaa_eric
No informed consent, No engineering report. No valuation report. No Bill of Quantities. No compensation methodology. Yet residents say they were asked to sign compensation agreements. Is this consistent with the transparency and disclosure standards expected by @AfDB_Group?
Residents say they were invited for a public participation meeting, only to be handed compensation agreements & urged to sign because "other villages had already signed" & the money had to be released immediately. @AfDB_Group@MOWSI_KE@Abdillahii @mungaa_eric
If the compensation process was fair & objective, why are there persistent questions from residents that a handful of individuals connected to certain officials received significantly higher compensation offers than others with comparable damage? @MOWSI_KE Publish the criteria.
The host communities deserve answers.
How did Thwake Blasting compensation exercise that has left families with damaged houses receiving peanuts, while many other affected households were left out completely, happen under the watch of the Liaison Office? @AfDB_Group
LOADING SCANDAL? Who is the Community Liaison Officer at the Thwake Multipurpose Dam, & whose interests has he been serving?
Is he not supposed to be the bridge between a project & the host community? Many residents say that bridge has collapsed @AfDB_Group@mugaa_eric@MOWSI_KE

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Mugambi Kiai @article19eafric
As direct beneficiaries of his work in supporting media and organizations, we appreciate his elevation of our project and the time he spent to mentor us. May his soul rest in peace.
We are grieved by the tragic death of Comrade @salmanpoet_ke. We see a pattern of abductions, arrests, and killings targeting HRDs. This is definitely a deliberate act to silence dissent. We demand quick investigation into the accident and ensure justice is served. @PSJC_WG
We are urgently calling for the immediate resignation of Mr. John Chebochok from his recently elected position as Director of Toror Tea Factory, managed by the @KTDATea
