Phindile Patricia Walaza, 27, was murdered in a horrific shooting at the Mokokotlong informal settlement in Orange Farm, along with seven other people, on 13 October 2024. It is alleged that the mass shooting unfolded after an altercation at a local tavern. A man, frustrated by the tavern's closure, argued with the owner. The tavern owner allegedly followed the man home, where a family celebrated lobola negotiations.
He opened fire, killing Phindile and seven other people, including a 3-year-old child. Four others survived. Phindile was at the house as she was doing their bride’s nails. The tavern owner then returned to his home in Evaton and turned the gun on himself. We are heartbroken over the loss of such a beautiful soul. Rudzani Phophi, 27, was brutally attacked and set alight in Makhado Biaba, Limpopo, on 19 September 2024. After weeks of fighting for her life, Rudzani succumbed to her severe injuries in Mankweng Hospital. The brutal attack occurred as Rudzani was returning home from work, and it is alleged that two men ambushed her, striking her with a brick, dousing her with a flammable substance, and setting her alight.
Two men, aged 17 and 20, were arrested in connection with the murder and remain in custody as investigations continu. Rudzani leaves behind her child. [ALLEGEDLY SOLD A CHILD] A woman appeared today in the Vanderbijlpark Magistrates Court on charges of human trafficking, conspiracy to commit robbery, and making a false statement to the police. The charges stem from allegations that, she sold her son to unidentified individuals.
Dr Nondumiso Nkosi, 32, was tragically gunned down outside a gym in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, on 20 November 2024.
It is reported that police and paramedics responded to a call and found Nondumiso outside her car. She was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. Nondumiso worked at a public hospital.
Police confirmed in an official statement that a preliminary investigation indicates Nondumiso was reportedly shot by two suspects.
