Habibi, Museveni is now at the stage of accusing the West - especially America - for almost all ills in Uganda. Sixteen years ago, when Gadaffi and Mugabe were playing the role of accusing the West, it was Museveni briefing (reporting? Snatching to?) Americans on their actions.
According to this Wikileaks document (link is here https://t.co/hkj4FoiuU9), in 2008, Museveni told the then US Assistant Secretary for African Affairs, A/S Frazer that “Qadhafi is a problem for the continent and is pushing for the creation of a ‘United States of Africa’ to be governed by one president.” Museveni described Gadaffi’s plans as “neither feasible nor desirable”. He added that “Gadaffi continues to ‘intimidate’ small African countries through bribes and other pressure.” He finished by stating his fears that Gadaffi would shoot his aeroplane over international airspace and requested that the UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT coordinate with the government of Uganda to give him information to stay safe while flying in international airspace.
On Zimbabwe’s failing economy, Museveni told Frazer that discussion with the ZANU PF man should focus on Zimbabwe’s failing economy and use it to tell Mugabe that “he has failed and is embarrassing liberation leaders”. He added that Mugabe “Mugabe is unwilling to take calls from most African leaders saying they are not his age-mates.”
As for DRC, he said the country wasn't doing enough against the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) and also reported the “lack of seriousness” among some regional leaders in fighting Kony.
Today, Museveni is where Gadaffi and Mugabe were. I wonder which African leader is now where Museveni was in 2008…
