This International Safe Abortion Day, anchored on the theme "Solidarity in Action: Advance Reproductive Justice & Urgently Strengthen Systems for CAC." demands action in Uganda: let's lift restrictive legal barriers, reinstate clear clinical guidelines, and protect women's health
Marking World Contraception Day under the theme "No Barriers, Just Choices" calls for a closer look at our reality in Uganda. True agency means barrier-free access to modern choices. Let’s invest in reproductive health for all!#WCD2026#ContraceptiveAccess#SRHR#MyChoice#Voices
Understanding Sexual and Reproductive.
It's more than pregnancy and STIs, it includes the well being of your body, sexual life, relationships and reproductive choices. It also means having access to accurate info, respectful services, appropriate healthcare, support & counselling
@AndrewMwenda After reading this, I think you are biased and in no position to give any information about the kingdom as a journalist. You are misleading Ugandans because of your hate. Let QM mourn her son. You would understand her loss and pain if your were a mother
@CanaryMugume Something is wrong with this generation. AI is great but over dependence on it is causing less creativity among young people. Guys are too lazy to even prove read anything. Anyways, respond and request for those important details and attend. Don’t forget to give a lecture on AI😂
Today, media is awash with a leaked letter of the resignation of the chairperson of the Uganda human rights commission. The resignation leaks just hours after CEHURD shared a formal letter of concern at her office on Friday 10th July regarding her public stigmatization of people living with HIV.
In CEHURD’s letter, we called upon the outgoing chairperson to retract those stigmatizing remarks and reminding her of the landmark ruling in CEHURD v. Pastor Ssempa (EOC/CR/123/2019), where the Equal Opportunities Commission Tribunal ruled that disparaging people living with HIV violates Articles 21 and 24 of Uganda’s Constitution. The Tribunal held that stigma against people living with HIV/AIDS undermines Uganda’s entire effort to fight the epidemic.
As the Chairperson who heads Uganda’s foremost human rights institution steps down, this moment is a powerful reminder that no public official, should be allowed to use their platform to shame or stigmatize people living with HIV. The letter we prepared stands as a record that civil society will always hold those in power accountable.
Good morning😃
As you step into a busy day, remember that the best form of self-care is protecting your body. A checkup today can save you a hospital visit tomorrow.
Prioritize routine screenings and stay healthy. Have an amazing, productive day ahead!
@Thomas_Tayebwa@BalaamBarugahar Hon, you’ve not heard of Paul Kafeero’s song about a herb women use on children to look the man who is not their father 🤣. Looks like he was singing about that gentleman’s mother🤣
