The revelation that our Special Boat Service used naval surveillance drones transmitting data back to China is a deeply alarming, yet sadly unsurprising, symptom of Britain's vulnerability to cyber threats.

Despite repeated warnings about the Chinese Communist Party’s relentless drive to harvest our defence and personal data, successive governments have preferred to bury these threats in the “too difficult” column rather than confront them.

The Internet of Things only deepens this peril, allowing tiny, hidden devices to transmit data or act as remote "kill switches" — a reality exposed years ago when a prime ministerial car was found to be compromised by tracking technology.

Blinded by ideological net-zero targets, the UK continues to casually import vast quantities of untested solar arrays—often tainted by Xinjiang slave labour and potentially embedded with these very kill switches—while the US rigorously polices its supply chains.

This complacency extends to Beijing's demand for a mega-embassy on the historic Royal Mint site, a project the British Government forced through despite repeated local council rejections and obvious security risks.

Ministers initially denied that the embassy's proximity to sensitive City of London cabling posed any danger, only to quietly admit later that the critical infrastructure would now have to be moved for our own security.

Similarly, Chinese-produced security cameras capable of relaying data to Beijing continue to appear on Ministry of Defence buildings, highlighting a sloppy indifference from those charged with protecting our nation.

The CCP's voracious appetite for Nato data is aided by Chinese laws compelling companies like TikTok to hand over information on demand, yet our ministers and civil servants foolishly continue using the app in their offices.

Despite China being behind multiple cyber attacks, widespread espionage, and the harassment of refugees on British soil, the Labour Government remains desperate to court Beijing for economic growth at any cost.

We now face the imminent threat of being swamped by state-subsidised Chinese electric vehicles and batteries, each laden with internet-connected devices ready to be exploited by a hostile state.

By deliberately underfunding our defence and turning a blind eye to these acts, we are increasingly viewed by our allies as the soft underbelly of the Western alliance—and totalitarian states are already acting upon our glaring weakness.

China is building the world’s largest hydropower project on Tibet’s Yarlung Tsangpo while withholding vital river data from India.

That is not just an environmental concern. It is a serious issue of water security, transparency and regional stability.

The Yarlung Tsangpo flows from Tibet into India as the Siang and then the Brahmaputra, sustaining millions of people across the Northeast.

Beijing cannot treat Tibet’s rivers as its private property while downstream nations are left in the dark.

Tibet is Asia’s water tower. Control of its rivers means control over the future of millions.
