Birmingham City Council has applied for an injunction that could result in people who fly the Union Jack from lampposts being jailed for up to two years.
Threatening people with prison for displaying their national flag is a direct assault on freedom of expression.
Patriotism is not a crime — at least not yet!

These illgal invaders broke into this country ILLEGALLY, they are criminals, why do we all have to 'take our fair share' of criminals living in our neighbourhoods?
You've issued a bunch of leaflets telling them how to behave, because you're aware they're not behaving acceptably, so why would you want to 'scatter' them up and down the country?
And the whole condom thing, it's just weird. Just exactly who is it you're expecting them to have sex with?
Will 'I didn't get a leaflet' or 'I can't read English' be a suitable defence, in the event one of these illegal invaders rapes a British woman or child?
Will it be looked on favorably if they used a condom during the act?

I work the front desk at a small doctor’s office, and I wish people could see what happens on the other side of the phone. Every day, older patients call us confused.
They are told to use the patient portal, upload documents, check lab results online, fill out forms before the visit, and confirm everything through a link. Some of them do not know what a portal is.
Some do not have a smartphone.
Some have one, but they are afraid to click the wrong thing.
Last week, a man in his late 80s called about his test results.
He said, “Ma’am, I don’t mean to bother you, but the computer says I have a message and I don’t know how to open it.”
He sounded ashamed.
That broke my heart.
He should not have to feel ashamed for needing a human being.
Technology can be helpful. I understand that.
But when people who built this country are made to feel helpless because everything became a login and a password, we have gone too far.
Not everything needs to be an app.
Not every answer should be hidden behind a screen.
Sometimes people need a voice.
A patient person.
A real human who says, “Don’t worry, I can help you.”
Progress should not leave seniors behind.
Because one day, the world will move faster than us too.
And I hope someone is kind enough to slow down.

@Banksycat I'm livid. This admission must surely give victims the right to sue the government for compensation as they are aware of the problem and this is their only solution.
When a government starts handing out HOW NOT TO RAPE booklets, the experiment is over.
They print the rules in ENGLISH for men who cannot read them.
Then pay interpreters at PUBLIC EXPENSE to explain that children are not for sex.
Next they will hand out CHASTITY BELTS to British women and British men and paid for by the same taxpayers who never asked for any of this.
This is not protection.
This is the white flag.
They just printed it
Might as well issue CHASTITY BELTS and a WHITE FLAG with every hotel key.
There is NO complete official number for the last six years. The government does not publish national RAPE or SEXUAL OFFENCE figures by immigration status.
What little data exists is already BAD enough. Foreign nationals made up 14 percent of sexual offence convictions in 2024. Their convictions rose 62 percent from 2021 to 2024, FASTER than British nationals. The nationalities that dominate the SMALL BOATS saw a 110 percent rise.
Hotel reviews only catch the ones that reached COURT. One look at fifty hotels found forty-four sexual offence charges in a single year, including four alleged RAPES. Other compilations keep naming more.
Most attacks never get reported. Of those that do, many never reach charge. Of those that reach charge the immigration status is often never published. The real total is UNKNOWN and almost certainly HIGHER.
They will not publish the full picture. Yet they print HOW NOT TO RAPE booklets. That tells you EVERYTHING about how bad they already know it is.
They felt the need to WRITE IT DOWN.
RAPE is illegal.
Children under 16 cannot CONSENT.
Women do not need a man’s PERMISSION to leave the house.
You cannot CUT a girl’s genitals.
You cannot leave a child alone or DENY them food.
That is not prevention. That is DAMAGE CONTROL after the fact.
The booklet sits inside a formal Home Office programme set up after the hotel protests. Its own language is about managing HIGH RISK individuals and restoring public trust. They already know a portion of the people they admit present a measurable RISK to women, girls and vulnerable men. Instead of stopping the selection or removing them they issue a leaflet and move people into HMOs so the problem is harder to protest in one place.
Countries that still protect their own people do not have to issue these instructions to adults they chose to house and support. The fact the Home Office produced this shows they know a significant number of the people they are bringing in come from places where these BASIC RULES are not automatic.
The system is no longer confident the people it brings in share the MINIMUM STANDARDS required to live safely among the rest of us. So it is reduced to spelling those standards out in plain English and hoping they stick.
This is an OFFICIAL ADMISSION that the selection process has FAILED and they’ve handed the country on a plate.

@sharrond62 Surely this information should be sent out as a national emergency alert? It would then reach all those in receipt of their free phones and the groomers already here. I received the fire warning and I've not seen one. This pamphlet shows me I'm more at risk of rape than fire.
@sharrond62 With this leaflet @ukgovernent has admitted that they are allowing potential rapists free access to our women and children and they are therefore complicit in all future attacks. Surely this leaflet admits that they know this will continue to happen. I am livid.
