My book Laziness Does Not Exist is now available for preorder! It comes out January 5th. It's one part anti-workaholism self-help book, one part vigorous sociological defense of everyone who's been shamed for not doing enough.

“The University of Washington predicts 180,000 US deaths by October - or 146,000 if 95% of Americans wear masks.” From the article - Coronavirus: New York imposes quarantine on eight US states https://t.co/uRFz8w7AtZ
@mjbeers1 I can’t wait to see the new mask designs that this generates. I love that masks are the graphic-tee of 2020. Just made myself one from a Bob Dylan bandana.
Statisticians found that if 80% of the population adopted even only moderately effective masks, the practice would prevent as much as 45% of projected #covid19 deaths in New York State.
How can we change norms to make more people wear a mask in public? https://t.co/NjPYXVe5j6
This was in re: to a post asking who really knew someone with/who passed from #COVID19. I agree. If youre fortunate & following guidelines you prob dont know anyone. That causes ppl to underestimate the risk & break quarantine early. This would use #availability#heuristic 4 good
@MeltdownWRIF There needs to be a running tribute somewhere with names, pictures, and and stories. 70,000 Americans aren’t a number, they’re people who deserve to be seen. I am willing and able to receive and catalog, and pass on to videographers... not sure how to make it accessible though 💔
Congratulations to all of the 2020 grads, but ESPECIALLY to the @MarianUniv psychology majors! The faculty of the Department of Psychological Science & Counseling miss you and wish you well in all of your future endeavors! #GoKnights

@Sakiera_Hudson I love the topic of the dissertation. I’ve been trying to understand that myself! I’d be very interested to hear the conclusion. Is the dissertation available on ProQuest or elsewhere?
Like many academics, I’m sort of dreading #CourseEvals this sem b/c I know some of the negativity of the sem will be misattributed to evals of profs but I’ve also never received so many unsolicited positive evals over the past few wks. I’ll remember those when I read the others.
