Politicians, Equity members and supporters have turned out tonight to demand an end to arts funding cuts in Northern Ireland.
Our message to Stormont and to Whitehall is clear: Arts funding for NI communities is how we find common ground. Stop these cuts now!
BREAKING: Belfast City Council voted unanimously to support a motion to reverse proposed cuts to arts funding in Northern Ireland.
The motion means Belfast Council will join as a signatory to Equity NI’s latest open letter against the cuts to the Department for Communities.
Equity’s NI Committee has delivered an open letter to Mr Colum Boyle today, responding to the budget report @CommunitiesNI; @NIA_Communities. We’re asking him and all MLAs: who will stand up for the arts and reverse the cuts? #EquityNIReverseTheCuts. https://t.co/vBS07Q2Yam
