Following the damaging high tides and associated swell of late last week, bird numbers are once again building across the NNRs Shorebird Protection Areas.@lifewader @ne_northumbria

Barnies galore, with in excess of 8000 at the roost this morning. Best views are from the white-railings- please do not enter the marsh. The annual Goose Festival is kicking off on the 28th October - more details to follow. ⁦@NE_Northumbria⁩

Scientists from @NE_Northumbria @newcastlemarine & @EnvAgencyYNE have been piloting different habitat-sensitive methods for removing ~2.6t macro algal mats from the intertidal area of Budle Bay @lindisfarne_nnr. Thanks to Sam Coates and crew from SCS East Anglia @LIFEprogramme
